I uploaded a 10 minute long video of the fireworks show over downtown San Antonio Texas, as seen by drone from East Commerce Street. It's up on my Yellow Rose Drones YouTube channel & my Facebook channel.

I'll edit a shorter version for Instagram later today.

Saturday's meetup for the San Antonio Drones FB group went over quite well. No rain, temperatures in the mid 70's, but a little more windy than optimal (12mph, gusting to 20mph). Only 1 drone ended up in a tree, but we all know that trees hate drones anyway. The FPV drone was successfully recovered after a brief argument with the tree by the pilot.

We had about a dozen folks show up, counting 6 visitors and 6 pilots. We gave away 2 landing pads to a couple of guys both named Steve. We also had 3 guys named Mike.

Here are some random photos from the event. Please note that 3 of our visitors were underage children with their parents, so as requested, we've blurred their images out of the photos where they appear.

This was the first time we were able to try out our new Yellow Rose Drones advertising banner. Turns out that a 10ft x 4ft vinyl banner makes a great wind sail when attached to a pop-up tent, so even with 30 # of leg weights per leg and a couple of stakes with ropes on the side towards the wind, it was still too much. I'll probably have to cut some of those slits in it after all.

Day & Night Dreams King of the Hill competition as drivers attempt to drift uphill and around the curve of the track. Our GoPro camera captured the cars as they attempted this feat. Some drivers were successful, but others not so much. This is video #6 of the series. @dreamersofdrift sponsored this event.

Quick drone flight over Medina Lake in Texas, just to check out the water level. It has dropped all the way down to 2.7% since we were here earlier this year. Sad. 😲 #drought #medinalaketx We flew from the Red Cove Marina, which finally had to close down its boat ramp because the water level was too low to reach it. DJI Mavic 3 Pro drone. We learned about the Dreamers of Drift hosting a Day & Night Dreams drift car event this weekend, at the Travis Expo Center near Austin, Texas. We couldn't get up there during the day, but we did arrive just before sunset, in time for the nighttime racing to begin. This video was made as they started releasing the cars out onto the (not so well illuminated) track. We flew the DJI Mavic 3 Pro, the DJI FPV and used a GoPro 10 for some ground footage and to capture live audio. Editing was done with Filmora v14. Day & Night Dreams, let the drift car racing begin! @dreamersofdrift This is the first video of many from last night's fun event. We've never chased #driftcars at night, like we did at this event. Lots of technical challenges, camera settings, lack of visibility other than the car lights & a few street lights. Uneven terrain added to the difficulty also. But we didn't crash our drone, so that's a win in our opinion. 😃 We had a blast!
