Earlier this week, a West Texan was named Mrs. America. Did you know that San Angelo use to have its own pageant that was nationally televised? Miss Wool started as Miss Wool of Texas. Breaking news: The San Angelo Nature Center has closed permanently as of Thursday, July 27, largely due to federal regulations, building requirements and staffing.

The majority of non-venomous reptiles will be relocated locally to Mad Mouse Zoodio, while the venomous reptiles will be relocated to a facility in Edna, Texas. All mammals have or will also be relocated to new homes.

On July 19, 2023, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of San Angelo public water system, PWS TX2260001, to issue a boil water notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that, due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water in certain areas of this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of 3:35 p.m. July 20, 2023.
