The Old Mill is a well-known “haunted location” that has appeared in many movies. But have you ever heard of Teen Alien or The Varrow Mission? This film was shot at the Old Mill, offering fantastic footage of this and other Utah locations from the late 70s. While I wouldn’t claim it’s the scariest movie you’ll ever watch, it’s definitely worth checking out—if only to see what this place once was. You can watch the movie for free here:

Side note: If you know anyone who was in or a part of this movie, we’d love to have them on our podcast!

This week, we are joined by Austin Facer from SLC Puck to discuss Utah’s NHL team and Austin’s podcast that follows the team. Austin has a background in sports writing and grew up playing hockey, so he knows a thing or two about the NHL and hockey in general. This is an exciting time for Utah, and especially hockey fans in our great state!

Listen in as we discuss the potential team names, team traditions, and toss around some team songs. After listening, be sure to check out SLC Puck on YouTube, your preferred podcast app, or

🎉🎙️ Four years ago (March 23, 2020), Brandon and I embarked on this adventure together, initially as an excuse to hang out and explore cool places and people in Utah. Little did we know, it would blossom into something incredible! We've released an episode every week since, except for that one week we missed. 😉 It's been an absolute blast meeting new people and uncovering hidden gems in Utah that I would have never known otherwise.

As we celebrate this milestone, I'm filled with gratitude for all the support from our family and friends who have been with us on this journey and continue to tune in. To our listeners, whether familiar faces or unknown, thank you for taking the time to listen. Some of my hardest laughs have come while recording with Brandon, and it's all thanks to your continued support and engagement that we continue to do the podcast and get to enjoy more laughs together.

A special thanks to Brandon, our producer, and editor, who ensures that the episodes are released and sound top-notch. Here's to hoping we can continue this podcast for at least another four years, if not more! 🥳🎉

Today we talk about the fascinating history of plane crashes surrounding the South Valley Airport. Of special interest, one wild story of two planes colliding in 1987. Neither of us had ever heard of this. What planes crashes do you remember? What other wild event do we need to talk about that hasn’t been covered yet?

We had the privilege of speaking with Jon and Stephanie of They are on a mission to create content that is both entertaining AND family friendly. They have some really cool projects coming up so it is a great time to follow along.

One of these projects is a mini-series called “Bound in Blood.” Here is a quick synopsis:

“When a new prophecy exposes 16-year-old Jess Argos as the foretold “Destroyer of the Gods,” her dysfunctional family must come together and learn what it really means to be a family in order to fight off the Greek Gods and their monsters that threaten to tear them apart.”

They currently have a crowdfunding happening to help move this project along and you can help support them by following this link: https://seedandspark.com/fund/bound-in-blood?token=40a398dcee794f1ea0ab4f76554b614bec91daaf1791a256a5b53f5e73e29a97

The Summer is basically over and so is Matt's internship. Matt decided for his last episode, he wanted to talk with Nate and Brandon about the potentially haunted Webster Elementary in Magna, Utah.

This school, which was built in 1914 and sadly burned down in 2004, was an iconic building in Magna. But the memoires and ghost stories live on. Join us as we share an overview of the history of this school as well as personal accounts of this haunted destination.

Join Brandon, Eagle Scout Nate, and Matt the intern this week as they address their trauma surrounding Cub Country and Camp Tracy. Who were these faceless monsters that harassed cub scouts and are they the people behind the alligators in Millcreek Canyon? Also, who's idea was it to sell whips to children? Tune in as we discuss these topics and get to the bottom of Brandon's fear of haunted houses and gems.

Listen in as Brandon, Nate, and Matt the intern are joined by Utah musician and friendly fellow, Anthony. Anthony is the owner of the band rehearsal spot, The Portal, right here in Salt Lake City. Hear all about The Portal and the famous musicians that have stopped by to practice.

Naturally, our conversation moves from The Portal to our favorite concert venues in Utah. Unfortunately for Brandon, Matt the intern, and Anthony, our band, Old Fashion Future, never made it far enough to play in any venue in Utah. But we share our rehearsal stories as well as Anthony dropping his guitar!

Be sure to tune in to hear about The Portal, and check out Anthony's single on Spotify under the band name of Friendly Fellows. And lastly, are you going to be eating a hot dog today, July 19th? Let us know on social media or email us at [email protected]
