MY MOM SHAMED ME FOR BUYING THIS PROM DRESS AND RUINED IT - I MADE HER FACE THE CONSEQUENCES.
I went shopping for a dress for my senior prom with my best friend. It was a gorgeous mermaid-style dress.
I showed my mom the dress when I got home without actually putting it on, and I don’t remember her having any sort of reaction, positive or negative. The skirt needed to be hemmed, so my mom said she would take me to her friend who does tailoring.
After giving me my dress, she said she was ashamed to be seen with me in the dress and that I had shamed her in front of her friend. I was really upset.
A few days later, I took the dress and simply burst into tears. She had REMADE it into a BAG, covering the upper and lower parts.

Two days before they were supposed to drive up to Connecticut, Mark called Anna. "Honey, I have bad news!" he said. "I'm on a plane. The board wants me up in Colorado to sort out a labor issue, which means I'll be flying directly to Connecticut on Saturday morning, if at all. I'm sorry, you won't be able to go with me!"
Anna was very disappointed. "Oh, no!" she gasped, I'm so sorry. But what about your gift? Do you want me to have it delivered?"
Mark sighed with relief. Anna was taking it well. "Baby, that would be brilliant! Let me give you my parents' address..."

So, Mark and I went to our favorite restaurant on Friday night. Lately, he's been distant, always on his phone, and I felt something was off.
We get seated, and this young waitress comes over, smiling way too much at Mark. She says, "Good evening, I'm Emma, and I'll be taking care of you tonight," practically ignoring me.
Throughout the meal, she keeps lingering, brushing against his arm. I guess she noticed this super expensive watch I gave him for his birthday. And Mark? He's LOVING it, laughing and flirting back.
We finish, and I reach out for my card to pay, and just GASP: he slips her his number on a napkin!
That night, after he fell asleep, I checked his phone. Sure enough, there were messages from Emma. They even talked about meeting up.

I TOOK A WRONG TURN AND ENDED UP IN A TOWN WHERE EVERY ROOF WAS PAINTED GREEN – WHEN I MET WITH THE LOCALS, I FLED AS FAST AS I COULD!
Okay, I know there are a lot of weird places in the US, but it looks like I stumbled upon the weirdest of them all. I was on a road trip with my son when the GPS told me to take a turn onto an old, bumpy road. I hesitated for a second but followed the instructions. Oh, I wish I hadn't.
After an hour of driving down this bumpy road, I knew it was leading me the wrong way, and I found myself completely lost. My son started getting fussy, so I hurried to find a place where I could feed him. This is how I drove into this strange town. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the town; they didn't have a welcome sign.
I slowed down, looking around for a McDonald's or at least a gas station, but all I could see were one-story houses with green roofs. All the roofs in town were green. It looked strange but not particularly disturbing. The disturbing things were yet to come.
Finally, I stopped next to an old, shady diner. By this point, my son Noah was already crying, so I didn't have much of a choice. I parked in the empty lot and walked in. There were two men sitting at a table and an old lady working there. They all turned around when I walked in and stared as if I wasn't supposed to be there.
"Um… Are you guys open? I wanted to order lunch for my son to go." I didn't want to admit that I was lost. It sounded like a bad idea. The lady looked me up and down. One of the men answered for her.
"Leave your phone in the car, and then your son can eat here." That's when it struck me — there was no radio, TV, and not even a cash register in this place. Okay. I only needed some oatmeal and fruit. I could get through this. I went back to the car, pretending to leave my phone. Instead, I just turned the sound off and hid it in my pocket. There was no signal anyway.
When I came back inside, the air was stiff. I took a seat to look at the menu, and then the two men came over to me. What they told me about the town still makes me shiver. The full story of how I made it out of there is in the comments below.

I LEFT MY NEWBORN WITH MY HUSBAND FOR A WORK TRIP AND HE BEGAN ACTING WEIRD WHEN I RETURNED — HIS REASON SHOCKED ME.
I'm a neurologist and totally love my job. I've been married to my husband for four years now. He's in marketing, but I make three times what he does. From day one, I told him I wasn't sure about having biological kids and always dreamed of adopting. He seemed cool with it until his best friend had a baby boy last year. Then he started pushing for kids, but I wanted to wait a few more years, since my career was just taking off.
But surprise, I got pregnant last August. After a lot of talks, we decided to keep the baby, and he agreed to quit his job and stay home with our daughter until she starts preschool. It made sense because I earn more, I'm just starting my career, and I can't stand the idea of being a housewife. Plus, I don't trust daycare until she's old enough to talk.
Our baby girl is 9 weeks old now, and I'm gearing up to go back to work soon. I went to this amazing medical conference out of state last weekend, leaving my husband with the baby. But get this: when I got back, he started acting super weird.

MY HUSBAND IS SIMPING OVER HIS SISTER-IN-LAW LIKE CRAZY — I HAD ENOUGH AND GAVE HIM A LESSON IN RESPECT HE WILL NEVER FORGET.
I don’t know if my husband is doing this on purpose or if he can’t control himself, but he knows that it bothers me and still does it. He thinks the sun shines out of his sister-in-law's bottom. Nothing she says or does is wrong. When we visit, he talks about her for 3-4 days afterward like he is in a trance.
We visited last weekend to see the new baby. I swear he was paying more attention to her and the baby than he ever did to me or any of our children. He was complimenting everything, from how she looked to how clean the house was to the delicious food. He even praised how she made the bread and how she remembered our favorite dishes, snacks, and desserts. “You are a superwoman,” he said.
I literally had it with him and said "enough" a couple of times, but he just ignored me and she just giggled all the time and welcomed the compliments.
Now he's been talking about how great and perfect she is since we got home. I've had enough. So, yesterday, when we went to his sister-in-law's, I ⬇️
