Bubbles’ Birthday Bash: How Old is This Duck Turning?

Friday, September 6th, Salisbury University is celebrating Bubbles’ birthday at 2 P.M. in the Square outside of the Guerrieri Academic Commons. This event is scheduled every year and allows for students to unwind after their first couple of weeks on campus. Even though this event is annual, not much is known about Bubbles the Duck.

NEWS: Mass duplication of SU website leaves students vulnerable to malware

Students at SU should take extra steps when navigating links that appear to be University sites. When searching the internet for things related to Salisbury University before clicking on a link that looks like it is from the official SU website, make sure the website listed above the URL is not from ‘alisflowers’.

SPORTS: Balancing time between school, sports and work

Life for student-athletes can be challenging. Waking up up at 5:30 a.m. to go to practice followed by three classes in succession can be physically and mentally exhausting.

Student-athletes devoting their time to playing a sport that they love while trying to study, do homework and complete projects can be difficult. Managing these obligations requires excellent time management skills.

GULL LIFE: SU community reacts to the looming Trump - Biden rematch

The rhythms of an approaching election rematch between Donald Trump and Joe Biden have Salisbury University students voicing an array of feelings. The results of Super Tuesday on March 5 further solidified the dominance each of the front-running candidates has over their respective parties, essentially ensuring the rematch.

Wondering what will ensue in the next four years, the heart of the university pulsates with the diverse beats of student voices, faculty perspectives and ever-fearful political discourse.

In preparation for the football game on Sept. 16, SGA Vice President Juan Adames Jr. announced at the Sept. 10 SGA forum that Salisbury University would be attempting to bring back the student section. Attendees were told to spread the word of the "gold out" and encourage students to pack the stands.

Signs could be found around campus advertising for the football game and student section theme. In light of the University's ban on tailgating, a pre-game kick off party was offered instead.

The City of Salisbury’s Housing and Community Development Department opened its brand new Anne Street Village in a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 21.

The village, located on Church Street and consisting of 23 units, will provide wraparound services for residents including mental and physical healthcare, addiction counseling, resume building and workforce development registration.

The village aims to transition residents into permanent housing within 12 months, including an acclimation period. Each unit includes a bed, HVAC unit, refrigerator and other standard amenities to make each resident feel at home.
