If you ever attended the Tri- rivers fair and many other local fairs in this area through out the 90’s you definitely were aware of the “Rock” Terry Serocki. The Serocki Family was one of the most passionate families about demolition derby you’ll ever find . It was a lifestyle for them and you would see the entire family show up in their black matching shirts to support the drivers . Terrys first derby was in Salina in 1988 and while Terry ran the most in the family his brother Bryan Ran in 1998 -2004 . Unfortunately we lost Terry a few months ago but hopefully we can help his legend live on. Bryan will be on the show to share memories and reminisce of the years their family competed . Show will be this coming Wednesday the 22 at 630 at the VFW in Salina and streamed live online .

Scott Rohrig ran his first derby in Minneapolis Kansas in 1983 finishing 4th . Scott was very successful around this area and if you were into demolition derbies or went to the Tri rivers fair here in Salina you were sure to hear his name . When Scott’s son Kane was old enough to run Scott got back into the sport and they dominated the compact class which was new to our area . Scott had fun running mini vans and trucks plus some trailer racing and car soccer towards the end of his driving in the events . Scott has always helped young or rookie drivers enter the sport locally by helping build or supply cars and parts to get them to the track . Hear more of Scott’s derby career and stories this Wednesday night at 630 at the VFW in Salina . Watch Racetalk live here on Facebook if you can’t make it .

Hello all ! Chicken here . Yea , I know it’s scary they gave me the keys to this thing. I posted the story on my page about how a passing of a local derby legend Terry Serocki sparked this idea in my head to try to capture some of these legends stories that are still around . I thought it would be awesome to catch up and document some of the guys we watched growing up that in most cases don’t have their stuff online for the younger generation to appreciate and learn from . That’s when I contacted the guys from Race Talk Live and they agreed to help me out and create a derby portion of the show . I want to start by hosting mainly past drivers that have helped the sport grow to what it is today . I really think any Motorsport advocate will enjoy and appreciate some of the stories and dedication that you will hear from these legends. I hope some racers will learn more about our sport and I hope to have some the derby fans support the racing community more too . So our first derby portion of the show will be this coming Wednesday January 22 trying to get started at 6:30 pm live from the VFW on Crawford st in Salina . I’ll post more information on the guests later this weekend. Please spread the word and share . I know with the guys we have lined up it’s going to be epic! You will still have the great Race Talk Live hosting race car drivers just like it always has been but I’m stealing them to help highlight the derby community too .
