🎖 Town Manager Citation of Recognition and Appreciation 🎖

We are proud to recognize three outstanding members of our Salem NH Police Department — Dispatcher Ashley Andrews, Dispatcher Alexandra Millard, and Dispatcher Felicia Dragon — with the Town Manager Citation for their exceptional performance during a critical incident on December 18, 2025.

When national attention turned to Salem during the search for a suspect linked to the Brown University and MIT shootings, these dispatchers were at the center of an intense and fast-moving situation. Despite overwhelming call volume, false reports, and heightened public concern, they remained calm, professional, and focused. They managed emergency communications, supported an influx of officers, and ensured our community continued to receive uninterrupted service.

The Town Manager Citation is a new initiative created to recognize employees who go above and beyond in a single act of exceptional service, and the actions taken by these three dispatchers exemplify exactly what this recognition is meant to honor.

👏 Please join us in congratulating Ashley, Alexandra, and Felicia for their outstanding service to the Town of Salem. 👏

Salem Fire Department has a tradition that started when the fire engines used to be pulled by horses. They used to have to push the engines back into the firehouse to show that it was ready for use. The Salem Fire Department held this Push In ceremony for their new Engine 3 to show that it is ready for service.

Sara Brown, President of Play Among the Stars Theater Group, (for those with disabilities) discusses her final show and future hope for her students. Here are some highlights from that December show. You can see that the performers sing with their whole hearts and even if some people don't take a leading role they still get their moment in the spotlight.
