Do we really need to set aside today as “Respect Your Cat Day?” Should be a daily response. Think before you suddenly approach a cat that doesn’t know you. A scared cat's first instinct is to escape threatening situations. And if it can’t escape or feels trapped, it might:

😡 Hiss, growl, spit, and swat
😡 Puff itself up to look bigger
😡 Twitch its tail from side to side
😡 Stick out ears to the sides or press them against its head

If you see any of these actions– back off! Screaming, biting, and scratching might soon follow. Respect the cat and its space!
