Sailing opportunities in St. Michaels!

We are excited to share that a pair of tall ships will be visiting our docks later this month: A.J. Meerwald, a 1928 oyster schooner and New Jersey's official tall ship, will offer a total of eight public sails Oct. 22-26, while Lady Maryland, an authentic reproduction of a Chesapeake Bay pungy schooner, will offer a sunset sail on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 5pm. Both vessels will offer free dockside tours during OysterFest on Oct. 25.

Buy tickets now to join in the fall fun sailing on the Miles River!

OUR HISTORY from www.governorstone.org
Seven years ago, today.
October 10, 2018 - Hurricane Michael interrupted the vessel’s history for the near future. She is currently undergoing restoration at St. Andrews School in Panama City.
The Governor Stone embodies maritime heritage as a moving museum and a reminder of the slower-paced past and the 140+ year old labor-intensive traditions of the Gulf Coast. Restored several times and repaired constantly, as befits a wooden seagoing vessel, the Governor Stone endures and will recover to sail again.
Verifiable sinkings based on historical documents
1) 1906 hurricane
) 1939 unspecified sinking (storm, decay or lack of use?)
3) 1956 storm pushed her into bridge piling, holed her
4) 2018 Hurricane Michael
