Phil Lesh, a classically trained violinist and jazz trumpeter who found his true calling reinventing the role of rock bass guitar as a founding member of the Grateful Dead, died Friday at the age of 84.

Lesh was the oldest and one of the longest surviving members of the band that came to define the acid rock sound emanating from San Francisco in the 1960s.

We are almost done with placing all of our new helmets/shields into service! To show appreciation for those members who served in the armed forces, each of them received a special shield with their appropriate branch of service stamped on it.

Those who did not serve in the armed forces will have a thin red line on top to show support and solidarity with fire service personnel and to honor injured or fallen firefighters.

In the years past, we have always placed the department service number (DSN of 601 for example) on the front of shield. We decided to go with more of a company pride theme this time.

We will have release of liability waivers on site and we will provide the necessary tools and appropriate personal protective equipment.
