I just rehabilitated this old Peavey 1810/1820 Bass Cab, replacing the recently blown and approaching 50 year old original Peavey Scorpion 10" speakers.

I usually use Eminence as my preference when replacing speakers.

This time PRV Audio won out. PRV 10W650W 8 Ohm from Parts-Express Part #294-2725. These speakers matched or exceeded the specifications needed to and cost $140 for a pair where every other speaker was approaching $200 each.

The speakers, now installed, sound great. My initial response is that they very clean and clear, very smooth. The speakers arrived very well packaged. My only beef is that they only have two terminal lugs which forced me into making MUCH BETTER Soldiered connections than I would have had using the original snap on wiring.
