Yellow bikes are a staple of what is to be at Eckerd College. Just like the white sand of South Beach and the towering palm trees, this free ride share service has been integral to many Eckerd College experiences.

However lately functioning yellow bikes have been fewer and farther between. This begs the question: What is happening to the yellow bikes and who is to blame?

Tampa Bay Rowdies must have been named after the fans. Al Lang Stadium, the heart of downtown St. Petersburg, pollutes the spring Saturday night air with yellow and green cheers.

One crowd, in particular, stands out, literally–the Ralph’s Mob supporters group. These season ticket holders never miss a game, home or away, and invite anyone and everyone into their section, members of the group or not.

They’re a tight community that wins and loses together. Find out more about their story through the link in bio.

Despite success on the court Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant has experienced a wave of negativity off of it.

Reports of threats and physical altercations have followed Morant from the summer to the 22-23 season. This negativity would escalate in early March when Morant flashed a gun on Instagram live.

Morant’s actions have resulted in a suspension and time away from the second team in the Western conference. Morant’s behavior comes at a poor time as the conclusion of the NBA season looms.

The Sunday dinner rush wasn’t the only noise made at Triton’s Pub on Sunday.

The last ECOS debate allowed each candidate in the election to speak their final platform for why they should be inducted into their positions over their opponent, and how they can improve Eckerd’s student life.

While the presidential position runs unopposed, the other positions are in tight competition, whether candidates are up for reelection or not.
Voting is open now until 3 p.m. Friday, vote now for the candidate you want to see as a leader on your campus!

Eckerd’s new student grassroots organization, the Coalition of Students for Indigenous Action (COSIA), has big plans for Eckerd’s campus and beyond.

“It’s not a club, but more of a social justice group, a group of students dedicated to action,” Ansley Jacobs, one of the founding members and senior majoring in marine science said.

“My service to this place is not dictated by my contract,” Annarelli said.

As the official sixth president of Eckerd College, Annarelli is looking to both continue the work he had been doing while also expanding into new areas.
