Lord, You know how the storms of life have been tossing me around: betrayal, disappointment, loss ... You and Your Word are my anchor. I trust Your truth, faithfulness, and love to steady me through it all.

Be reminded of God's promises today through this blessing from Susie Larson: "May God reset your perspective. You’re not called to do everything, be everything, or even see everything. You are called to keep your gaze fixed on God alone. Don’t look at all of your problems all at once; instead, look at ONE of His promises all of the time until you’ve made it your own. God’s Word is living and breathing, active and powerful. God’s Word holds life, wisdom, and revelation for you. Search until you find them. It’s time to reset your perspective. God has peace for you here. He has joy for you here. He has provision for you in this place. Look to Him and you’ll find life again. May you spend the rest of your life getting to know the love of God and the promises of God. May you spend every moment seeking the face of God. He deserves your trust. He’s a good God. It’s impossible for Him to fail you."

The message of the Gospel says that in Christ you are already loved and fully accepted. You cannot do anything to add to, or take away from, the perfect love God has for you. Shame tells us the lie that ‘measuring up’ is how we are loved or accepted but God’s love has the power to tear down that lie!

Take an hour to be encouraged in letting go of the shame that you carry. Hear truth and ways to help yourself and those around you accept the love God has for you.

I’m hurt by what they did … how that made me feel … I know I’m supposed to love them because God asks me to, but I don’t want to!

Part of loving your neighbor is praying for the people who have wronged you. Treating them with kindness, even when you know they didn’t treat you the same way. Forgiving them because God forgave you.

God, You know my hurt, anger, and sadness. Help me forgive despite how I feel. Heal the parts of me that have been wounded. Give me the strength to have the boundaries I need to love well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Good Samaritan was on his way, but he stopped, showed a man compassion, and then he took care of him ... not to gain anything in return, but simply to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

In your busy life filled with demands and responsibilities, it can feel impossible to take time for interruptions. Ask yourself a few questions. How do I respond to the unexpected? Am I willing to be interrupted? Am I willing to let God use me even when it’s inconvenient?

If you’re having trouble allowing room for God in your day, ask for His help. You could start with this prayer:

Jesus, help me be interruptible. Help me to hear Your voice over the demands of my day. Cause me to be aware of the needs around me. Lead me to respond with compassion, even when it’s not convenient. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Catch your negative emotions the moment they surface. Turn your heart toward heaven and sing a song of praise to your Maker. He will minister to your heart and strengthen your frame. Breathe in His grace and breath out His peace. His presence surrounds you. His promises are for you. Sometimes love is easy, and other times it feels impossible.

But it’s just a little easier when you remember, “we love because God first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

When we weren’t grateful and didn’t deserve it … He loved.

God, help me notice the opportunities I have to love others well. Help me to overcome my fear, my feelings of hurt, and rejection as I remember that even when I turned my back on You, You loved me. Help me be bold as I choose to put Your love into action.
