San Francisco Bay Area composer Lisa Mezzacappa and New York writer Beth Lisick release their audio opera The Electronic Lover, a nine-episode serial story set in 1980s chatrooms. The comedic drama features 14 vocalists, a synth-driven power trio, and special guests Del Sol Quartet and the Premier Ensemble of the San Francisco Girls Chorus.

Far from conventional, ladyybirdd's debut album,'Tomorrow's Yesterday,' is a personal exploration set to a landscape of electo-acoustic composition integrating improvisation, analog FX, with the flute at the center. While a flute may seem an unlikely candidate for musical insurrection, ladyybirdd brings dynamic intensity and unrestricted adventure. The album features contributions from Ambrose Akinmusire, Immanuel Wilkins, Nick Dunston among others, and is co-produced by Joseph Branciforte. Gina Izzo

Here's an excerpt of Creación de las Aves from LeBaron's new album, Unearthly Delights.
Inspired by the Remedios Varo painting of the same name, Creación de las Aves reflects two elements that are striking in her surreal work of art: the extreme concentration shown by the Owl Woman as she paints birds into living creatures (with the assistance of alchemy and a cardio-violin), and the ecstasy of the newly liberated birds as they take flight through a star-studded window. The origin of life is thus transformed into a warm-blooded miracle, a song taking flight.
