11/19/2024

Final day on the Serenade of the Seas. Day 9 was a sea day heading on our way back to Tampa. We took a backstage tour of the Tropical Theater. Later in the afternoon we attended the “Flag of Nations” show in the centrum. It is a celebratory showcase showing the diversity of the ship’s crew by showing the flags representing their home nations. Completed our final daily trivia sheet and ended the day packing our bags.

Day 8 was a success on the Serenade of the Seas as we ported in Cozumel, Mexico. We shared the dock with one of our favorite ships, the Symphony of the Seas. Walked to one of our favorite go-to places Sunset Cozumel for lunch and drinks. Once back on board, shot some pool and enjoyed people watching from the back of the ship. Cruise life is good!

The Serenade of the Seas, day 7, was a fabulous relaxing sea day regardless of the weather! The captain navigated us around a tropical depression that was forming off the coast of Belize making for a rough few hours at sea. No worries though, it made it a great day to explore the ship and enjoy the activities! Yes we decorate our door! The solarium is one of our favorite hang outs on this ship!

Day 6 on Serenade of the Seas, Puerto Limon, Costa Rica. Spent the day on a rainforest walk and Tortuguero Canal boat ride in search of wildlife. The boat trip didn’t disappoint. We saw a small crocodile, a few sloths and a family of howler monkeys. Ended the day with a stop at a banana plantation before heading back to the ship.
Fun fact—Costa Rica is a global leader in environmental conservation. The country produces over 99% of its electricity from renewable sources and has dedicated over 28% of its land to protected national parks and reserves, preserving its rich biodiversity. This will not be our last time visiting this beautiful country.

Day 5 on the Serenade of the Seas, Colon, Panama. We took a full day shore excursion that actually transported us on a ferry right through the Panama Canal and through three locks! What an adventure! A 5000 car transporter ship and sail boat joined us in lock transfer. Went under the bridge of Americas. It was truly an epic experience and we highly recommend it if you are ever in Panama!

We started the day in Colon, Panama on the Caribbean Sea and ended the day in Panama City , Panama on the Pacific Ocean.

Cruise tip— The bus ride back to our ship in Colon took a little over an hour and we hit rush hour out of Panama City! Ship all aboard time was 7pm. Our bus pulled in at 7:15pm to a waiting Serenade of the Seas. The exact reason why you book a full day excursion through the cruise line, they will wait for you!

Day 4 on Serenade of the Seas was a Sea Day. Attended the Veteran’s Day ceremony, took a spanish class, went on a ship art walk, played Disney trivia and relaxed. Quick ship fact, Whoopie Goldberg is the ships Godmother.

Day 3 on the Serenade of the Seas, George Town, Grand Cayman. Cruise ships do not dock directly at the island’s port due to the shallow waters. Instead, they anchor offshore, and passengers are transported to George Town, the capital, via small tender boats. Took a quick walk around downtown George Town. The island was celebrating, Remembrance Sunday. Once back on the ship we went to the small on board theater and enjoyed the movie , “Twisters”. After dinner, we played a couple games of backgammon. Finished the day attending the headliner show “Marquee” in the Tropical Theater. It was a fun filled day!

What a heartfelt tribute to our Veterans on the Serenade of the Seas. Today, we honor and thank all our veterans for their courage, sacrifice, and service to our country. Your dedication ensures our freedom, and we are forever grateful. Happy Veterans Day.

Day 2 on the Serenade of the Seas was a beautiful day at sea! Some of our favorite days are at sea! Started the day at the Top Tier event hosted by Captain Fred! This class of ship doesn’t have a promenade instead they have a centrum. It is beautiful area to hang out at and they hold many events-contests, music performances, and a great place to people watch! We enjoyed some reading time on our balcony and of course grabbed a quick afternoon nap! The light rocking of the ship we had yesterday just rocks you to sleep and you can’t help it! Shout out to our cabin steward who left us a penguin!

Here is a quick day 1 recap on the Serenade of the Seas! First of all, we have to say the Serenade of the Seas is a BEAUTIFUL ship! It’s “old school” but classy! Just what we love (yes, maybe due to us being “old”!)

Embarking in Tampa was a breeze! It was THE most efficient onboarding we have experienced! We were on the ship in less than 10 minutes after our driver dropped us off-record time!
Welcome drinks at the Schooner bar were amazing! We took some time and walked the ship to check out all the spaces

Spectacular views on deck as we cruised under the Sunshine Bridge and watched the sunset.
The Crown lounge had some amazing snacks and drinks- which ended up being our dinner for the night! It was a wonderful first day on board!

On board Serenade of the Seas and ready to get this adventure started! We have completed our muster drill (always first!). Sending a special shout out and cheers to new followers, Michelle (who we met at the hotel this morning) and her mama, Iris! Get well soon Iris and here’s to a speedy recovery!

Hat day is now official! It doesn’t have to be the wee hours of the morning to enjoy a Bloody Mary at the airport! Cheers! Here we come Tampa! Shout out to our Uber Driver, Mark Labat who got us here in perfect time!

Only 15 days until our 9 night rescheduled cruise on the Serenade of the Seas out of Tampa. Looking forward to share some new ports and adventures.
