Ever noticed the soft, cozy glow of candles on our cruise ship's dining table pictures? They may look real, but they're actually flameless! Since open flames aren't allowed on ships for safety reasons, these elegant LED candles create the perfect ambiance without the risk of starting a fire. It's just one of the little touches that make dining on a cruise ship both magical and safe!

Final day (day 7) on Celebrity Apex. Sea day heading back to Ft . Lauderdale. Spent the morning packing. Not our favorite activity! However, we did try for the first time some onboard ship “excursions”. The wine and food pair we shared already but today’s ship excursion was “Making Steak Tartare”. Lead by one of the executive chefs on board, he walked us through how to make it and then we were able to enjoy it with a nice glass of Cabernet Sauvignon . A back stage tour of the theatre on the ship was our next ship adventure! So fun seeing all the behind the scenes areas. We then attended the Senior Officers farewell party, served with appetizers and drinks. Very nice way to end the cruise on the last night. We had an amazing week on the Celebrity Apex. Celebrity has a vibe that we definitely can relate to and the Apex was a beautiful ship. You can look forward to more adventures coming from Celebrity ships!

Day 6 aboard the Celebrity Apex was Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. We did a first today. We decided not to get off the ship while in port and instead spent the day on the ship exploring and relaxing. We walked the stairs and took a self guided art tour around the ship, got in a few games of Rummikub with Brenda winning best four out of six games. Finished the day with Lobster Night for dinner which of course included baked Alaska for dessert. Caught the late night encore show with the comedian, Troy Thirdgill. It was a great relaxing day!

Wow, it’s day 5 already on the Celebrity Apex. We had an early port of call visiting the island of Tortola, BVI. This is our first visit to the island and it was gorgeous! None of these pictures do it any justice. Our tour was a sea and land tour so we could get the best of both worlds on our first visit. Took the catamaran out to tour around Tortola and 6 additional islands near by. Did you know the Virgin Islands were made up of 60 islands! Not all are inhabited. The open air bus tour took us to the top of the mountain for some breath taking views of the area and a little island history. Returning from the tour, we walked around the port area which had quite a few places to eat and some nice shopping. Once back on the ship we were able to take a short nap, and rehydrate. Before drinks in the Eden, our favorite before dinner place as it has the BEST views in our opinion and then on to dinner at the French inspired restaurant, Normandie. The nightly comedy show, Troy Thirdgil was hilarious and we look forward to seeing him again at his late night show later in the week. Day 5 was a spectacular day!

While in St Kitts we were joined by the Icon of the Seas and her passengers. It was exactly 1 year ago to the day we were on her for her inaugural voyage. So many fun memories but we have to say we love the smaller number of people on our current voyage much better!

Day 4 we find ourselves in one our favorite places, St Kitts & Nevis. We are a little bias of this place as we honeymooned here over 30 years ago. A lot has changed but we still love coming back and always exploring something new! Today’s adventures took us on a catamaran across to the sister island Nevis. Had a beach lunch and some beach time. Watched a beautiful sunset from the ship, dinner in the Tuscan restaurant followed by the show production, Crystallize. After a fun filled day we were exhausted and headed back to the cabin! Early rise tomorrow for the next port of call!

Day 3 on the Celebrity Apex did NOT disappoint! Another sea day, but we love it! Started at our favorite coffee stop for a cafe latte and a little work! Love being able to work on board a ship! Went to the wine tasting, amazing wines! Took an afternoon nap ( as you can imagine was needed). Night time adventures consisted of a welcome party (Elite or higher) hosted by the captain and his team. Late afternoon apps in the room ( part of being in concierge class room) and then on to the nightly entertainment. We even hit the late night adventures ( thanks to those who voted) and went to ABBA sing along. We had a blast and saw some of our wine tasting friends! After cutting up the floor— we headed straight back to cabin. Found our towels nicely waiting for our excursion tomorrow in St Kitts! Can’t wait— Our absolute favorite destination!

Celebrity Apex day 2 was a sea day. The ship was rockin today—rough seas, we spent most of the day inside exploring the ship, relaxing on the magic carpet for a little fresh air, grabbing our morning caffeine at Cafe Al Bacio before taking in the wine and food pairing ship excursion. It was so much fun and we highly recommend it!
Finished the day with dinner at the Cyprus restaurant before calling it a day. Why do sea days go by sooooo quickly? We are relaxed and ready for day 3 -yep another sea day! We love sea days!

Day 1 on Celebrity Apex. Boarding the ship was a BREEZE! It only took us 15 minutes—and that was to walk through security, scan our passports, and walk the gangway. Our lunch was superb. We did our ship tour and then had our fist drink on the magic carpet! Our night entertainment consisted of the magician Vinny Grosso, dinner and then returning to our cabin to find a little treat on our pillows! Fabulous day!
