The way we talk to ourselves becomes the way kids learn to talk about their bodies.

This isn’t about "fixing" your body.
It’s about changing your relationship with your body.

What to Say for Me is an 8-week course for parents, with short videos and a guidebook designed to help you build peace with your body—and support your kids’ well-being along the way.

Athletes are 3x more likely to develop an eating disorder than non-athletes — and coaches can be the first line of defense.

By sponsoring "What to Say for Coaches", your business helps provide free, research-based training that equips coaches to talk about food, body, and performance in ways that build confidence, not pressure.

Your support makes it possible for thousands of coaches to model body respect, balance, and resilience for young athletes across the country.

Join us in creating sports environments that support both mental and physical health.

“You look great! Have you lost weight?”
It may sound harmless, but comments like this send a powerful message to kids who overhear them.

It teaches them which bodies are praised and which ones are judged — even when no harm is intended.
Most of us learned this language without ever questioning it. And most of us aren’t trying to hurt kids.

The good news is that small shifts in what we say can help kids feel safer, less judged, and more at ease in their bodies.

Say this instead:
“It’s really good to see you.”
or
“How have you been feeling?”

Every January, the same pressure shows up.
Fix your body. Try harder. Do better.
What if this year looked different?

What if your goal wasn’t changing your body or controlling food, but feeling more at ease in the body you already live in?
That shift matters, for you and for the kids who are watching.

"What to Say for Me" is our on-demand, 8-session video course with a guidebook, created to help adults untangle long-held beliefs about food and body image and make simple, meaningful shifts that last.

No rules to follow.
No fixing required.

Just practical support you can return to, on your own time.
You deserve to feel at home in your body. Your kids deserve to see that, too.

There’s still time to set kids up for a healthier new year.

Your gift today does two things that matter:
• Helps fund recovery grants so individuals can stay in life-saving eating disorder treatment
• Expands prevention resources for thousands of adults who shape how kids feel about food and their bodies

And until 11:59 PM CT tonight, every dollar is matched up to $40,000.

We’re this close to covering the resources needed to keep this work strong in 2026.
If you’ve been meaning to give, now is the moment.

I want to talk about food and body in a positive way… but how?

Even small changes in what you say to kids can make a big difference.

We're sharing a few everyday phrases you can reframe to help kids build healthy, confident relationships with food and their bodies.

The words we use about food and body matter. See how small language shifts can help kids build confidence, not guilt — with free, practical examples of what to say instead.

We’ve all joked about “needing to go on a diet after the holidays.”

But when kids hear these comments, they learn that eating and body size are something to worry about — not something to understand.

Here’s the good news: simple shifts in how you talk about food can help kids feel confident in their bodies, not stressed by them.

And you don’t have to get it perfect. You just need to learn what to say.

Sign up today to get the full breakdown on harmful "diet talk" + our free guide "The Truth About Diets" straight in your inbox on 12/26.

Diet talk isn’t always obvious.
Most of the time, it sounds like “normal” adult conversation — the kind many of us grew up hearing.

But kids don’t hear it the way we do.

Kids hear:
🔹 “Some foods make me good or bad.”
🔹 “My hunger is a problem.”
🔹 “My body should look different.”

And when kids take these messages in, it can shape their confidence, their relationship with food, and the way they see their bodies for years to come.

Here’s the good news:
You don’t need perfect language to make a difference.
Just awareness. And a willingness to shift a few habits you may not have noticed before.

If you want examples of what diet talk looks like in everyday moments — and what to say instead — read the full article. It’s practical, reassuring, and written to support the adults kids look up to most.
