If you are interested in Drug Courts and Sentencing Alternatives, Dr. Lindsteadt from the Criminal Justice & Legal Studies Department will be holding an informal meet & greet and a open classroom discussion with guests Judge P. Robb (5th MO Court) and Cassy Moppin (Probation/Parole II). This event will take place on Monday, September 27th; the meet and greet will begin at 11:30AM in Wilson Hall 203M and the discussion will take place at 12:30PM in Wilson Hall 205.

Heather Daugherty is the Assistant Lifestyles Director this year. She is an English major with a concentration in Education. She's been on any MWSU publication she could be staffed on, including a semester working for The Griffon News, several years working different positions for the on-campus prose, poetry and art journal, Reach, and on the national undergraduate literary journal, The Mochila Review. She's also been co-host and producer of The Mochila Reveiw's sister-podcast, Mochila Chat. She spends her free-time making digital art and contributing to underground zines.

Caitlin Dillon is the Lifestyles Director and the Editor-in-Chief of The Griffon. She majors in Creative Writing and Publishing and is also Editor-in-Chief of our campus literary and arts magazine Reach. When she isn’t working, Caitlin loves writing poetry, reading poetry, hyping her friends’ poetry, and binge watching New Girl while it’s still socially acceptable to bum someone else’s Netflix login.

Ryleigh Reagan is the Assistant News Director for Griffon Media. She is a senior, majoring in Convergent Journalism. Ryleigh has previously been a reporter for both the Lifestyles and the News desks, and has worked behind the camera for Griffon Broadcast multiple semesters. When she isn’t working or at school, Ryleigh spends her time with her dog, listening to K-pop, or sleeping.

Zoë Jones is the Exeutive Director for Griffon Media this year. She is a junior majoring in Convergent Journalism and minoring in Political Science. This fall marks her 7th year persuing journalism. She is a part time reporter for the St. Joseph News-Press on the weekends. She was voted as the 2020 MCMA Journalist of the Year. In her free time, she can be found binge watching The Office, watching TikToks or taking naps.

Brett Howery is a senior at Missouri Western. He’d been the sports editor for the newspaper for two years and has written freelance articles this summer for TheSportster.com. He is an avid music and wrestling fan and owns an amazing dog named Caeser. He also loves the Chiefs and the Royals and his favorite thing about sports is the analytics and statistics.

Alyssa Braddy is the current Copy Editor for Griffon Media. She started out with the Griffon News as a reporter last spring. She is a current senior majoring in Convergent Journalism and has been at Missouri Western since the fall of 2019. In her free time you can find her jamming to 5 Seconds of Summer and Harry Styles, watching Dance Moms reruns and hockey or spending time with her two cats and her dog.

Cooper Jones is the Web Director this year. He's a sophomore majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Digital Animation. He can usually be found reading or playing Pokemon, among other games. He loves all animals but his cat is practically his son and he loves him more than life itself!

Sydney Durbin is the Design Director this year. She is a senior and studying both Strategic Communications and Graphic Design. She works as an independent designer for Rare Nutrition. In her free time, you can find her writing music reviews, studying albums, or late at night editing graphics in Potter Hall. After college, she hopes to work as a Public Relations Specialist for a record label or independent artist.

Chase Merwin is a senior Convergent Journalism major at Missouri Western State University. He serves as Photo Director for Griffon Media and Treasurer for the Missouri Western chapter of the Society for Collegiate Journalists. Chase also manages his own photography business – Merwinning Photography. In his free time, Chase enjoys spending time with his loved ones, taking and editing photos, playing video games and watching movies. Chase’s dream is to become a photojournalist for a magazine or lifestyles-oriented publication.
