The northern lights could be visible here in Northwest Missouri tonight!
Minor flooding took place on the Missouri River at St. Joseph for the first time in nearly three years this past week! I spoke with a hydrologist at NWS KC/Pleasant Hill about local flood potential of this waterway over the next few months.

Expect dry and quiet conditions across Northwest MO and Northeast KS through Wednesday before shower and t-storm chances return by Thursday evening. T-storm chances will continue into the weekend with the potential for multiple rounds of severe weather.

Scattered showers and storms have flared up across the region and will continue to bring heavy rain, gusty wind and maybe some small hail with some of the stronger storms. -Mark
A few strong storms are pushing into NW Missouri and NE Kansas.. Some gusty winds, small hail and heavy downpours seem to be the main threats.... The activity looks to die down after sunset. -Mark

Flurries continue to fly across STJ. And a scan of Omaha's radar shows more energy trying to sneak in... I'll keep flurries or a burst of light snow in the forecast through about midnight. -Mark
