St. Joseph Radio

St. Joseph Radio is a nonprofit volunteer lay apostolate dedicated to explaining and proclaiming the Catholic Faith through local and worldwide radio programs, parish presentations, conferences, classes and retreats. The roots for St. Joseph Radio were planted in 1983 with the founding of the St. Ignatius Retreat Association that sponsors retreats, conferences and seminars for parishes throughout the United States, Canada, Nassau and the West Indies. Since 1988 St. Joseph Radio, an extension of the St. Ignatius Retreat Association, has produced and aired Catholic programs for the evangeliza- tion of Catholics and non-Catholics alike - on AM/FM and global short-wave radio and the Internet. These programs reach vast audiences in their homes, offices and cars and on the street. With fresh, fast paced formats featuring vibrant speakers, incisive dialogue and live, call-in question-and-answer sessions, St. Joseph Radio programs present the Catholic viewpoint to an audience largely unaware of the facts and teachings of the Catholic faith. The need and success of such an outreach has been evidenced throughout the years by the testimony of hundreds who have returned to the practice of their faith or been converted to Catholicism. St. Joseph Radio also created a new organization called In His Service Productions. The plan of IHS Productions to "proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to all by worldwide Catholic Radio" is built around these three steps: 1. Introduce IHS Productions to bishops and help them evaluate the use of the media for evangelization in their dioceses. 2. Tailor weekly and/or daily 55-minute programs from St. Joseph Radio archives to provide affiliated dioceses with digital-quality programming of proven popularity. 3. Recruit, hire and train high school and college students (the future Church) in the vital field of communications.
