According to the Missouri department of Social Services (DSS), in 2023, the state of Missouri had over 12,000 kids in foster care awaiting to be adopted, sent back into the custody of a guardian or looped in the system. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A man of courage and determination. One who looked adverse circumstances in the eye and chose to fight with his voice for the rights and freedoms of black people in America and the overall togetherness of people everywhere. Yesterday, MidCity Excellence - MCE Community Learning Center, Inc. hosted their 10th annual MLK Solutions Summit and I was honored to see kids in St. Joseph be equipped with the tools for a successful future through this program. I saw their confidence, articulation, knowledge and most importantly their DREAMS to be anything they wanted. Yesterday was more than MLK day but a launching pad to the future of kids in this community! Question of the day: How do you contribute of the betterment of your community? COMMENT DOWN BELOW.
