Fripp Island Living

Fripp Island Living The FIPOA envisions a community that offers an inspiring and essential lifestyle in a natural setting We’re neighbors. We are a family. We should act like it.

SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY
FIPOA HOUSE RULES

We believe there are certain ways to act, and certain things to remember when interacting, including on social media, all of which pretty much boil down to this: We’re friends. The use and/or participation in FIPOA’s Facebook and/or Instagram will be deemed to be the user’s agreement to the following terms of use. Any individual or entity who fails to comply

with these terms will be prohibited from any further participation by FIPOA.

#1: There will be no cursing in this group – ever. It also includes any statement that the group admin deems inappropriate in nature. This page is meant to be positive and uplifting.

#2: Do not advertise your business on this group; this group is intended to be personal, not commercial, in nature.

#3 In keeping with the By-laws, covenants, and standing agreements in place for FIPOA, commercial solicitations or the promotion of businesses or services will not be allowed.

#4: All opinions will be treated with mutual respect unless they violate these terms. Treat your fellow Facebook group/page members with that same respect.

#5: If a single individual starts a discussion that all other members disagree with, it may, at the discretion of the group admin, be considered trolling. Trolls will be booted out of the group or blocked from the page.

#6: If a member personally attacks another member with words that are harmful, threatening, or not in-line with our mutual respect policy, that member will be automatically removed from the page as a follower. We will not tolerate disrespect at any level.

#7: Please stick to the mission statement of this Facebook group/page. Irrelevant content does not belong here.

#8: Keep it Clean. Do not post graphic or disturbing photos, political posts, videos, and other media in this group. If you are not sure about the content that you want to post, email the group/page admin [[email protected]]

#9: If someone mentions you by name please respond directly to that person on the same post. If the comment is inflammatory please report it to the page admin.

#10: Think before you post! This is Facebook, one of the biggest sites on the internet – what goes up can never really come down. Respect the privacy of others!

#11: Be aware that posting more than 5 discussions on the same day needs to be justified to the group admin, or it will be considered spam.

#12: It is considered impolite, and therefore, in violation of these terms, to repost or draw attention to the fact that a group admin or another member has deleted your comment.

#13: If you are going to comment, we would prefer it if you could try and add valuable discussion to the conversation. Be friendly, be fair and use common sense.

#14: The page admin is entitled to deny or block entry to any member they choose. They are also allowed to boot out members that do not comply with these terms.

#15: For any [specific] inquiries please refer to the website address and telephone numbers in the “about” section. This is just the page for FIPOA not the business itself!

#16: When you share attachments in our page please make sure that your settings are on ‘public’ or no-one will be able to see your attachment.

#17: THIS IS FOR YOU
Use it. Share it. Get to know each other’s stories. Celebrate Fripp Island; that’s the point.

#18: This is a public page and we will not be sharing any agendas, meetings, or recordings of meetings at any point on this platform.

FRIPP ISLAND PSD TROPICAL STORM DEBBY UPDATE
Fripp Island Public Service District's administrative office will remain closed until Friday, August 9, 2024; however, we are monitoring phones and emails remotely. You may be experiencing slow drainage in and around your home. Our sanitary collection system/vac sewer system is experiencing a waterlogged condition. The FIPSD staff is working to clear it and restore it to normal operation. We are asking our customers to continue to conserve water, limit the number of flushes and PLEASE DO NOT drain your yard through the clean out. Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation.

Here are some photos of the island taken over the last hour. Thanks to Meghan Johnson, Assistant GM for sending these. The photos are captioned, indicating the area. She also mentioned that Bonito is clear, and all of Ocean Creek is good. We have a significant amount of standing water and storm debris on primary and secondary roads. FIPOA staff is continuing to run all of the water pumps to reduce standing water levels as quickly as possible. They are also removing storm debris where they can. Two trees came down, one in the Sandpiper cul-de-sac and another at the intersection of Remora and Dolphin. The limbs have been removed, but we are waiting for our tree company to remove them. We encourage folks to stay home and avoid driving on the roads, especially in areas with standing water. We will continue to provide updates as things progress.

According to Chief Gonzales, the water at Marlin is going down. Access to the island is business as usual. Here’s a video from this morning of Tarpon and Yellow Perch and the Marina area from Chief.
