And you don’t have to start with giant woodworking projects. Then you’re in the right place!I don’t have a picture perfect home, or the budget to hire everything out —so like it many others, I’ve taken the path of just doing it myself. And with a little inspiration and help from me, you can do it to. So whether you’re ready to tackle your first painting project, do a feature wall or even take on a full wall built in I’m your girl! Follow along and we can continue this adventure together. SAVE all these steps for later ⬇️ I’m sharing the steps to replace an ugly builder sink with an easy DIY drop -in farmhouse sink without replacing the cabinet doors. This laundry room was one of my first DIY projects, and while I was learning how to tile, building shelves, and putting up board and batten , I wasn’t quite ready to tackle to cutting down and making new cabinet doors. So insted I removed the pop out false drawer front from the top of the cabinet and and cut off the top rail with a jigsaw. Here’s what it looked like after I set the quartz countertop I had cut from a remnant. Then I dropped in and dry fit the sink so I could modify the pop-off panel to fit tight around the apron style front. I measured the and marked the opening on the panel but after getting the side eye from my site supervisor I decided to make a template out of foam board. Only had one opportunity to cut this right and I didn’t want to mess this up. After transferring the template to the panel, I added masking tape to prevent tear out, and we drilled the corners and cut the panel to size with the jigsaw. The template worked perfectly and Here’s what the false drawer front panel looked like after being cut. All that was left now was to snap the trimmed panel back in place to using the original pop in brackets. It was a perfect fit and I was able to drop in, seal and install the sink and faucet without any modification to the cabinet doors finishing off this laundry room makeover with on a budget. #DIYHome #HomeRenovation #Farmhousesink #RoomMakeover #FurnitureBuilding #BudgetDecor #LaundryRoomDIY #SinkInstallation #CabinetMakeover #HomeImprovementProjects
SAVE for Later! Follow for more details 💙This may be the longest project list reel I have ever done, but I tried to give you every step of the process in one spot. That being said, I have all the SLOWED down details on highlights on my profile and project recaps 1 through 5 on my page show you even more of each process. This build was my first ever and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The kitchen cabinets were a game changer and gave me a great base for building my first bookcases and getting this builtin created. Some of my favorite parts:⭐️The 8” poplar boards from Weaber Lumber made a grand statement on the custom Nickle-gap backing. Having larger boards and crisp cut edges give it a high-end finish that cannot be compared to standard shiplap. ⭐️Using Maple 1x2’s for the finish trim gave me the smoothest finish and every piece was perfectly straight. This made a huge difference in the finished product!⭐️Classic crown molding⭐️ The most perfect blue paint color ever !#builtins #weaberlumber #makeitweaber #roommakeover #buildityourself #diyhome #ladieswhodiy #diybuild #stockcabinets
3 things this project taught me : (1) draw and tape it out. (2) be prepared for it to take longer than you anticipated. (3) Do your research and don’t be afraid to phone a friend ! #diyprojects #DIYTips #builtins #diytipsandtricks

DIY BUILT-IN - Part 4 Bookshelves for the beginner. After building the base out of stock kitchen cabinets, I moved on to creating the upper portion of the built-in by adding two identical, bookcases, and a centerpiece to surround the TV. check out the cutting equipment I used that made cutting equally sized an accurate pieces a breeze. Don’t forget to check out parts 1 - 3 to see how the beginning of this built-in started. #builtins #diyproject #ibuiltthis #makeitweaber #kregjig #beginnerfriendly #roommakeover

Built-in Part 3️⃣- budget countertop ⬇️ DETAILSAfter getting the cabinets attached and leveled, it was time to create a 12 foot countertop on a budget! Here’s what I did :1️⃣ I cut three sections of Countertops out of 3/4” birch plywood. 2️⃣ To minimize the seams and create symmetry the sections were divided to have seams underneath the bookcases. 3️⃣ I cut custom thin shims out of scrap popular boards and then use them to level each section of countertop. Once level, I glued all the shims in place.4️⃣ I attached the countertop sections with 2 inch Brad nails. 5️⃣ After allowing the countertop to dry and set, I prepared to fill the seams. Even though the countertops were custom cut, builder walls are never plumb and there were small gaps in the seams between each of the countertops. 6️⃣ to create a hard and lasting finish at the seams I used Bondo. It’s inexpensive, easy to use, and won’t crack like putty or spackle will. I filled both seams and then after curing overnight I sanded them smooth. It’s serious like they were NEVER there 🤯7️⃣ I wanted a high end backing for this built-in, so instead of traditional 5 inch tongue and groove shiplap, I added 8 inch Weaber Lumber poplar boards and spaced each board with a metal right angle to create the perfect nickel-gap siding. I primed and painted the boards before installation to ensure all the seams had a good coat of paint. Later, I’ll be finishing the edge of the plywood with iron-on birch edge banding. This will give the countertop a custom look —and all for less than $50.In PART 4️⃣, I am building custom jumbo bookcases and a center shelf for the TV. This process is also relatively beginner friendly, using plywood and Kreg Tool pocket holes. I am trying out a new cutting system that will allow me to easily cut all the pieces to the same size, ensuring a level and square bookcase! Or so, I hope 😂😂So save and follow along to see how this custom

DIY HOW-TO Series 1-1 : Feature Walls Have you always wanted to DIY a board and batten, geometric or shiplap wall, but are new to DIY and don’t even know where to begin? Then this series is just for you! This is the first of my step by step guide on HOW-TO DIY for beginners. In this series, I’ll be sharing with you the basic steps in planning and starting your own DIY feature wall project. It will be broken down, step by step in short videos that you can save and use to guide you through your very first project. Part 1, searching and saving your inspiration is often over looked. DIY doesn’t have to start from scratch every time. In fact, I recommend finding an inspiration photo that you can use as a blueprint for your first project. Have questions or other ideas on this step? Drop them in the comments. I’d love to hear from you !#diytutorial #diyforbeginners #diyseries #boardandbatten #shiplapwalls #diyprojects
I created a custom cabinet top out of pine plywood and used stainable birch edge banding to give the rough edges a finished look. Wood edge banding is typically larger than the edge of plywood. This edge banding comes with a pre-applied adhesive and to apply to your project, you just need to use heat. I ironed the edge banding into place and then used this double-sided edge bander to trim the edges. The trimmer compresses to fit your material with blades on the top and the bottom. All I had to do was place it over my wood top, compress the trimmer and slide it across. It took about three passes to get it completely smooth. #diyprojects #diytools #edgebanding #makeiteasy
