Great season Nitro Wildcats Football!
Not at all what we set out as a goal, not how we wanted things to go, but sometimes, someone’s just better, someone’s just more hungry, and someone just wants it more than you do. Life is always full of lessons. What matters is do you understand the lesson being taught, and what you do with that knowledge you’ve now gained.
Season came to an end last night vs Bridgeport (highly likely they win the state championship) but what these kids have done in 2 years with a program just 2 years ago that was on life support is the biggest victory itself.
**Nitro won its first playoff game in 6,224 days.**
**Nitro hosted its first playoff game in 6,588 days**
They say Rome wasn’t built in a day but these kids absolutely pressed the FAST FORWARD button to push Nitro to a top team in its class.
The seniors leave a legacy set up for these underclassmen to be extremely successful moving forward. Nitro has never seen nor played a team like Bridgeport.
The fact multiple kids came up after the game and said “now I know what it takes to win a state championship and I’m not close yet” & “when are we starting the off-season” & “now we know how much harder, and better we have to get to compete with teams like that” it shows the mind set of the program has changed.
Tough group of seniors to lose. They were a joy, different personalities but great kids, positive attitudes, and always willing to be great.
Yes, kids from different places, but in the end those kids are friends, and more importantly now family. Dom Wise, Josh Moody, Zoov Dickerson, Avery Pannell, Issac Samples, Andrew Thomas, Issac Woolwine, Bryson Sowards, Eli Littlejohn, Maddox Cole, Andrew Thomas, Charles Cantrell, Brogan Chambers, and all those who came and gone thru the years, they are now friends for life. && some may have not known each other before all this.
3 things to live by:
1. Finish what you start
2. Care for others
3. Leave it better than you found it.
You did all 3, and in the end that’s your greatest legacy, as a Nitro Wildcat football player.
Open door policy anytime any of you want to or need us, want to come back, etc. You know where to find the coaches and how to reach us.
Let’s get to work on getting these seniors to college who are interested and when that time comes celebrate them together, as family.
Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat!
