Anyone try the Rhubarb Sauce Drop Cookies?
Just received a call from a lovely woman from Alpena saying the sauce was much too runny and didn't think it was correct. She googled the recipe and found one on the website foodlustpeoplelove.com which has a different sauce recipe.
Since she had already made the sauce, she was planning to strain it and maybe cook it further to make it more thick.
I will be printing this new recipe in the JA24 issue if you'd rather wait before trying the one I printed in MJ24.
Unfortunately, Carylne, who wrote the cookbook that this recipe came from is no longer with us so I can't ask her for clarification.
Remember, I know nothing of cooking or baking so if something looks off, please do research before wasting your ingredients.

Yippee! The May/June 2024 issue has been sent to the printer!
It will be printed late Sunday night and they'll be picked up Wednesday by the shippers and start going out. UPS might pick up earlier for those that have UPS shipping, like the UP.

The Jan/Feb 2024 issue printed Monday and was delivered to a limited number of stores starting Tuesday. ProMed picked up today (Wednesday) and will hopefully get them out quickly, at least before Christmas. Be sure to check your favorite store for it.
And remember to thank them for the paper, as our advertisers are the ones that make The Country Register possible.

I am sharing an email I received from the owner of In The Beginning Fabric. Please read it and contact the company to let them know this is NOT right.
Subject: Jason Needs Your Help! Company Stealing Designs!!!!!
Dear Fabric/Quilt Industry Friends,
It has come to our attention that there is a company in Asia stealing fabric and quilt designs - including our popular Dragon series. Their name is Fresh House. They are creating cheap bedding, rugs, curtains, etc. Because they are in a foreign country there is really no good/economical way to stop them - it would not be worth the legal fees. BUT I would like to send them a message to stop!
Below is a link to their site so you can see more of the cheap products - you might even search for others. I am guessing there are stolen fabrics and quilts from many other people on the site besides ours. This is such an insult to quilters, designers and artists.
It would be GREAT if we could get as many people as possible to inundate their customer service email with messages asking them to stop stealing fabric and quilt designs, and telling them what a disgusting practice it is!!!! Feel free to pass this message on!
