Congratulations Gene Huish, our Majik 1007 Athlete of the Week. Gene is a three-sport athlete from Thatcher High School. He has been one of the top runners on Thatcher’s cross-country squad and is also a top soccer contributor. Currently, Gene is the #1 tennis player for the #1 ranked Eagles team. According to Coach Chris Cook, Gene is active in the community and is a great competitor and selfless teammate. He is also a member of National Honor Society. Congratulations, Gene!

Congratulations Sam Ray, our Majik 100.7 Athlete of the Week. Sam is a senior for Cliff Thompson’s Pima High School varsity basketball team. Sam is a team captain and one of the Roughrider’s best defensive players. Sam is regularly tasked with guarding the opposing team’s best player. According to Coach Thompson, Sam is a great teammate and leader. Sam is also a top student at PHS and has been named Student of the Month. Congratulations Sam!

Congratulations JoJo Ruelas, our Majik 100.7 Athlete of the Week. JoJo is a three-year senior starter for coach Danny Smith’s Safford High School boys’ basketball team. JoJo has led the Bulldogs to back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time in five years, and was selected to the All-Tournament team at Round Valley and EAC. According to Coach Smith, JoJo also does well in the classroom. Congratulations, JoJo!

Congratulations, Lea Llamas, our Majik 100.7 Athlete of the week presented by Optimal Health Systems. Lea is a senior for coach Roy Corona’s Pima Lady Roughrider basketball team. According to Coach Corona, Lea is a tough all-around player and team leader. Lea was named to the EAC all-tournament team and is the 2A East Region Player of the Year. Lea is also Pima High School’s student body president and carries a 3.8 grade point average. Congratulations, Lea, our Majik 100.7 Athlete of the Week...and thank you Optimal Health Systems for making it possible.

Good news for anyone headed to the White Mountains. One of our employees made the trip today. He said in addition to the single lane for the fire there were also 2 other road construction areas but only added about a half hour to his trip.

ALERT ~ Weather Alert for Graham & Greenlee Counties. The National Weather Broadcasting Service has issued a WARNING stating that there will be Quarter Size Hail, Highwinds, possible flash flooding! Believed to begin in Graham County within the next 30 to 45 minutes.

There is a severe thunder shower warning for Safford, Thatcher, Pima & all the surrounding area. It will be from 3:30 until 4:30. The storm is located just north of Safford municipal airport & moving south. Expect hail damage to vehicles and other objects outside. The broadcast suggested going to a lower floor in the middle of your home and staying there. Stay safe everyone!
