In August of 1997, The Howard Stern Show had a caller (actual audio included here) who claimed to be a real serial killer living in New Orleans.
Howard and his co-host Robin Quivers grilled the guy. Some of what he said lined up with now convicted murderer Russell Ellwood.
The actual identity of the caller has never been verified.

The pure evil ways of Franklin Maywood Romine have yet to be completely revealed. Cold case detectives from two different countries are scouring cases from the 1970s to see if they can match Romine with other violent crimes. Including murder.
Victims and their families will never get true justice, however, because Romine was Caught After Death. He died under mysterious circumstances in 1982 and left a trail of violence to victims from West Virginia all the way to Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police served a search warrant on a home in nearby Henderson, Nevada. Since it is an active murder investigation, police aren't saying anything.
Accused shooter, Orlando Anderson, himself was gunned down just two years later. Admitted accomplice Duane Davis is still a free man.
26 years ago, in 1996, Tupac was gunned down while riding in Las Vegas Valley in a car driven by Death Row Records founder Suge Knight. He was only 25 years old. Tupac Shakur died six days later.
Shakur remains one of the most iconic and controversial figures of our time. Between his music, film, and photos, Tupac's legacy continue to live on.

September 17th 2023 - Lancaster County Nebraska Nebraska true crime author Samantha Al-Rekabi was arrested for helping a death-row inmate extort a prison nurse for 25 thousand dollars. You can’t make this stuff up. Al-Rekabi was writing a book about Aubrey Trail who was sentenced to death for the 2017 murder and dismemberment of Sydney Loofe. Trail’s girlfriend Bailey Boswell had matched with Loofe on Tinder and lured her to her death. Trail had pressured the nurse into smuggling him contraband, including a cell phone. By Trail’s direction, Al-Rekabi befriended the nurse, letting her stay at her apartment and giving her money and a computer. She manipulated the nurse with a story about a hitman hired to kill her husband and needing the money to stop the murder. #tinder #MurderCase #prisonnurse #deathrow #Extortion
