Welcome, I'm Michelle! And I'm a climate money mover! I've raised tens of millions of dollars for nonprofit climate projects, I currently lead an organization that helps direct climate funding to disadvantaged communities and minority-owned small businesses, and I have taken steps to transition my home/lifestyle to be more eco-friendly so I know what it's like trying to figure this stuff out as a consumer trying to save money. So... I thought I'd share what I've learned and what I'm still learning along the way.
Climate Money Moves is a place to foster a community of multi-ethnic climate money movers. Why?
Because there are HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS, if not TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS going to fight climate change right now! I'm talking jobs, contracts, business opportunities, community investment potential, personal savings and wealth creation. And for people of color and working class families, this can be especially game-changing.
If you lived through the 90s and 00s, you'll remember the Dot Com boom... personal computers, the internet, social media! A lot of the people who are rich today made their money being at the forefront of the transition to a Tech economy. And the rest of us have been trying to catch up ever since. Well now the ClimateTech economy is here and the next 8-10 years are the defining decade so it's our last chance. And I don't mean our last chance to save the planet. It's that too. But it's also our last chance to make or get some real money out of this.
