KENTUCKY ALUMINUM PROCESSORS (KAP) BREAKING GROUND IN LOGAN COUNTY

Logan Economic Alliance for Development (LEAD) President & CEO Brooke Brown Waldrup announced at Tuesday’s Logan Fiscal Court meeting that Kentucky Aluminum Processors (KAP) will soon break ground in the West Industrial Park. The company will create 75 new jobs. The ceremonial groundbreaking will take place September 9th at 10:00. KAP will be the first facility to locate in the West Industrial Park, located on the west side of the Russellville Bypass.

Waldrup also told the court LEAD is ready to move forward with the proposed speculative building project. The plan is to build a 100,000 square foot building, with plans for a 100,000 square foot pad adjacent to it for expansion, at a cost of approximately$6 million. LEAD has secured $2.75 million in state and federal grant funding for the project. The Logan Fiscal Court approved moving forward with financing on the project. The county will provide 90% of the funding, while the City of Russellville provides 10%.

Roadway is clear …… Hull’s Environmental Services is on scene to clean up a small area of saturated dirt, but they and their equipment is off the roadway.

The Logan County KY Sheriff's Office is currently working an accident near 10855 Nashville Road (US431). A tow truck is on scene and they are going to attempt to keep one lane open. This may impact traffic for students dismissing Adairville School.

Today, we were honored to receive a generous grant from the E. Rhodes & Leona B. Carpenter Foundation. This gift will directly support our vision to provide artistic experiences to enhance the lives of students in Logan County Schools and Russellville City Schools. We are deeply grateful and excited to put this into motion and expect to impact over 4,000 students over the course of this grant.

Thank you to the Carpenter Foundation for helping us open doors to artistic opportunities for students through Arts of Southern Kentucky. 💙🎭💛
