Big changes coming to the page but I’m sure many of you saw it coming! I’ve been passionate about kids in foster care for a long time and have shared my support here over the years.

I’ve been pretty quiet on here because I was shifting into a new role. I became the Content Management Officer for Central Texas Table of Grace 2 years ago.

Since then I’ve had my oldest Graduate HS, fostered 2 teens and recently my daughter also Graduated HS. We are on the verge of adopting one of the 2 teens we’ve had the pleasure of fostering.

This has really become my heart. More than ever I want to see the dream of Central Texas Table of Grace come to life. We want to build a bigger shelter to accept full sibling groups and to build an on site supervised independent living community for the teens that age out of foster care.

We need it. In order to do that, we need more people to hear about it and partner with us. That’s where the decision to shift my social pages came in. I know there’s lots of big hearts on this incredible app that could change the lives and futures of the kids and teens we serve.

So I hope that while this topic isn’t why you chose to follow me, that you will stay. That you will hear our stories and help us share and build.

It's been a SCARY long time since I have been on here. I am alive and well. As a matter of fact here's what I have been up to:

1. I've been working for a local nonprofit Central Texas Table of Grace an emergency foster care shelter in Round Rock Texas. I am their Marketing Director. I help them raise money and awareness for Children and youth in Foster Care. November 9th is our yearly Gala "Light The Way." if you would like more information on that I will add the link in the comments.

2. I manage several social platforms for local businesses like BNI Circle of Trust, Texas where I also help them extend their local organic reach to grow their network.

3. I have Senior in High School and we are currently fostering a teen. Life is a bit wild!

Have you ever had a moment that felt "Right" and without hesitation you just went for it?

I do not know of a moment where that has happened to me.

It did not "feel" right to start my business when my kids were little, husband was in college and I was rolling burritos at Chipotle to make ends meet 👀

It did not "feel" right to move to Texas with kids entering middle school, a husband starting a new career path and me restarting my photography business in a new place without connections.

It did not "feel" right to send out hundreds of asks online until I found a few people willing to take a chance on me and my new social media business...

I think you see where I am going, right?

I am walking out each day hoping that when I reach the end of my life (and have chance to reflect) that I wont spend time regretting the chances I took. I want to live this life the fullest. To use what I have been given.

Hear me out: What if we hired kindergarteners to write our posts for a day?

Do you think they would overthink what they said?

Would they hesitate posting it because of what others might think?

I don’t think so, not for a second 😁

They would believe that their work was good and everyone should share in it!

I think we could all use a little reminder from our younger selves to be kind to ourselves! To believe we have good to share and to take action 💙

Spicy Take:

I don’t like the feature on Facebook. As a social media strategist I believe we should all make content that people WANT to seek out.

That feature is best for a “SALE” or “LAUNCH” something that only happens once in a while or that members have opted into.

Not for your daily or even a weekly post. It’s should be occasional, important, something that your followers truly wouldn’t want to miss.

Summer time means adventures with my built in sidekick! Daughters are both the very best and incredibly challenging. They’re half you and half their own magic…which makes for some moody moments! I wouldn’t trade these days for anything. Which is one of the reasons I do the work I do. I want these moments more than anything!

All my teens finished school today. All my teens are safe. I’m thankful for my husband that partners with me to keep our home going.

My heart is overwhelmed with the weight of grief that so many are experiencing today. Not just the families mourning the tragedy that happened here in Texas but also my daughters friend that didn’t make national news but who’s life was also cut significantly short. It’s too much. I sit here mourning with those that mourn and also thanking God for His great mercy on my home and life.

God does not have favorites. I don’t understand how He works but I know He is good and faithful. So I cling to that. That one day everything will be made right. The balances will be settled and we can have full joy.

I will do what I can to love the people around me well. To be kind to the people in front of me. To be moved with compassion instead of anger. To be patient when things aren’t going my way. To forgive when my heart is still hurting.

We have to love well, love with our actions, love with our words….or things won’t change. I believe with every ounce of my being our nation has a heart issue more than any other issue.

No level of politics can fix that. Only we (you and me) can change that. We do that by loving our neighbors well. By loving our coworkers well.

I know we here it all the time and it’s almost cliché…but love covers all and it does and will win.

Can I share something simple with you that has brought me peace in a very hard season?

I never pictured myself as being a great performer. I'm not talking about winning an Oscar either...Thank goodness!

Im talking about climbing the corporate ladder. Some of you are incredible business minds! You can take any industry and explode the company. That's amazing! It's not my gift but I sure appreciate the ones that have it.

I am thankful for coaches that help me through my weaknesses. But, I have put on the pressure to perform as if I did have that gift when I really have a different set of gifts all together.

I have a gift of being faithful. As a believer, I am also called to be faithful. I am consistent. I am resilient.

The pressure to perform isn't from me or for me...it's from the outside. It is from looking around at other peoples mountain tops, rather than focusing where my own feet are planted.

If you're walking around feeling weighed down, discouraged, overwhelmed could it be... because you're reaching for an unrealistic goal? You're reaching for something that was never meant for you anyway?

Focus today on being faithful. A faithful friend, A faithful spouse, A faithful business owner. Keep your focus on where your feet are planted. You will make better progress there. It is where you are meant to be.

The reality is, if you’re swamped, it’s because there’s a demand. If there’s a demand you should be sharing what you do, how you do it and why people love you on every platform your audience is likely to see you.

Insurance is a hot topic right now. People are sharing how happy or unhappy they are with their claims process or how accessible their agents are.

People are considering their current coverage and if they would have been protected if they were hit by the storms.

Can I admit something to you?

I’m a slightly introverted photographer, and over the past 5 years, I have had the pleasure of working with clients that have challenged me to break out of my shell. Of course, I love that my clients keep me in business and I love that they recommend me to their friends and families.... but what I love the very most about them is that they consistently broaden my horizons and trust me to do what I love.

It’s time for a flashback!

Before I started my career as a Photographer and Social Media Coach, I went to Bible College with the goal of becoming a Youth Pastor. I led a youth group for a while and I now a foster parent serving teens. It all works out in the end!

I learned so much during that time that influenced the business person I am today. Lately, I’m learning the most from podcasts, Networking, lots of reading and from monitoring my kids social media activities!

These women in my life have had the biggest influence and impact on my life. They are the ones that know me the best and could tell some pretty BOSS stories!
