I'll challenge that claim.
I am willing to bet you have no problem with violence, as long as it's conducted by certain people for specific purposes with little or no moral or legal consideration or consequence for yourself.
For instance, so-called legal violence. The police and military enact legalized violence daily against innocent people including many Americans.
What happened Saturday was political violence consistent with what is acceptable by political actors and the people who support them. They would have little problem replacing that attempted target with any number of other political targets they'd feel justified in using state violence against.
That doesn't make it right, not in my book, but again, it is acceptable and consistent behavior within the political class.
