The North Pennsylvania Avenue bridge over Spring River will be closed during daytime hours four days a week for the next three weeks as work continues to replace the water-line crossing that was damaged during the October flooding. The closure will be Monday through Thursday each week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Motorists should seek alternate routes during this project. Those driving in the area are reminded to observe all project-related signs to help ensure the safety of the work crews.

***THURSDAY, JANUARY 2, IS THE FINAL DAY TO APPLY FOR FEMA INDIVIDUAL ASSISTANCE RELATED TO THE CHAVES COUNTY FLOODING.***

The first step for individuals and households to receive assistance is to apply to FEMA for federal assistance. There are no costs involved to apply for, or receive, FEMA assistance. There are four ways to apply:
1. Visit the Roswell Disaster Recovery Center, operated by the state of New Mexico and FEMA at the Roswell Mall.

Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The DRC will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1.
2. Go online to disasterassistance.gov/.
3. Download the FEMA App for mobile devices at fema.gov/about/news-multimedia/mobile-products.
4. Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. Help is available in most languages.
