Every year, thousands of girls are bound into s*xual slavery. Many are trafficked to major sporting events around the United States….the average age these girls is fourteen.

Ten years ago, Soteria Productions was honored to partner with and the End It Movement to raise awareness about the horrors of s*x trafficking.

The team stripped away the solid sides of a box truck and replaced them with glass – revealing the brutal realities of human trafficking – as the truck was filled with actors portraying women who had been sold into s*xual slavery.

The reactions ranged from shock to outrage to heartbreak and the media and social response was swift and dramatic.

The day after the event, the FBI launched a sting operation targeting s*x traffickers... here are the numbers that count: twenty-one arrested for child exploitation. Seven children rescued.

1️⃣ What do you love about writing?
The process of writing content is like unwrapping a gift and discovering something that was once not a reality and now a treasure to share.

2️⃣ What is one part of being a producer do you love?
I remember once a very well known successful producer told me, “You want to know what makes a good producer? When you don’t know what exactly it is they do. Why? Because they have surrounded themselves with a great team.” I love being a part of teamwork, that’s my favorite part of production.

3️⃣ What is a dream project for you?
Producing a show or documentary that authentically changes a life for the good.

I love being Creative! … and actually creating the idea!

A: My introduction to production was on my day off from my regular job. A friend asked me if I wanted to make $200 on my off day, that sounded good to me.

3️⃣ What has been your favorite project?
A: My favorite project with Soteria has to be the time(s) we have spent in Chicago!

4️⃣ What is one fact about you that would surprise people?
I was 1.5lbs when I was born.

🎬 Say hello to Timothy Williams!

1️⃣ I love that in production you have the opportunity to bring an entity that only existed in your mind first, through this process called production, that inevitably brings it to fruition! I feel honored to be apart of that process.

2️⃣ I knew that I wanted to be in production when I realized that my value as an individual cohesively comes together with the collective to make something larger than us all. Knowing that I’m not only wanted but needed to in a space gives me a sense of purpose!

3️⃣ My favorite project so far was working with United Negro College Fund (UNCF) over the span of 8 months traveling to multiple HBCU’s to create a multiple videos for their UNITE Conference. Seeing my work on the big screen is very fulfilling.

4️⃣ A dream project for me would be to DP my own film that creates social impact.

Telling stories, problem solving, seeing and finding the light for each image.

2️⃣ When did you know photography was your thing?
When I was 12 and my Grandad let me take out his camera and explore the tiny town of Oriental, NC for the first time, I was hooked.

3️⃣ What has been your favorite project?
There’s a few, but shooting Jack White’s first solo show for Rolling Stone was a notable one.

4️⃣ Do you have a favorite shot?
A black & white photograph of my wife Mattie, shopping for apples in an old barn, shot on a Mamyia 645 with Ilford 800 (I think) and developed in my bathroom. Came out perfect.

1️⃣ What do you love about production? What I love about production is the collaborative nature of my crew, the creative process of bringing ideas to life, and fostering a work environment where everyone, including the client, feels valued and integral to the project's success.

2️⃣ What is one part of your creative process when editing a project? Finding the perfect music during video editing is like solving a puzzle, where I search for melodies and rhythms that not only match the mood but elevate the storytelling, and if it can't be found, I'll compose it to ensure a seamless fit.

3️⃣ What has been your favorite project? My favorite project is the "End It Movement" video, as it was challenging to film, yet incredibly rewarding due to the awareness it raised about s*x trafficking, with an entire team dedicating their time voluntarily for a full day.

4️⃣ What is a dream project for you? My dream project is to create a weekly documentary series spanning a year, exploring the significance of community across 40 diverse cultures worldwide, ultimately highlighting the universal importance of family, faith and community in the human experience.
