Roam Live!
Why is there no time for video? Well, this show aired on WKAL on Friday, 11.12.21 and it contains comments about 11.13.21. In particular the Classic Comedy Double Feature (featuring the Marx Brothers in Horsefeathers and W.C. Fields in "The Man on the Flying Trapeze) at the Rome Capitol Theatre. Time doesn't permit a second edit so...
This is the radio edit.
Topics include: changing standards in the entertainment media, references to Santa, Big Bird and vaccines...Plus, a conversation about movies from the Pre-Code era...and more.
Featuring the Roam Live! usuals: Makenzi Leigh, Lisa Matte, Jon Matwijec-Walda, Rick E. Lewis and special guest Art Pierce, Executive Director of the Capitol Arts Complex.
The Today Show
Today, October 21, 2021 is a busy one in the Downtown Arts District:
The Haunted Hallway Bazaar Craft Fair in the Capitol Arts Complex tunnel, the Phantom Double Feature that includes a 25 minute adaptation of the 1925 silent movie "Phantom of the Opera" with live music accompaniment and the opening of the Keaton & Lloyd Bookshop.
Good thing Copper City Brewing will be there to quench the thirst of everyone who stops by on this unseasonably mild day in October.
Ted Lenio zooms in to talk about the October 22 & 23 presentation "An Evening of One Acts"- a showcase of local one act plays at Rome Community Theatre.
We discuss the serious topic of his play "Touchy" that peels back the lid on the discomforting topic of sexual harassment.
Roam Live In Oerson and Onstage
09.23.21
Here is the first Roam Live! onstage at the Rome Capitol Theatre. We had most of the team onboard for the evening: Rick E. Lewis, Lisa Matte and Jonathon Matwijec-Walda. Makenzi Leigh wasn't able to make it.
This was a complete change from sitting in the basement on Zoom! For this we needed the superb technical help of Brian Hoehn Director, Josh Longsworth & Kaylee Bertini on camera and Tony Pezzula stage hand.
Of course, to do a proper onstage show, we had to have a band...Not just any band....but The Fabulous Mojos!!! And they were fabulous!
We interview Art Pierce in this segment. Jori Elizabeth was also on the show and will be featured in the next uploaded Roam Live! on stage and in person at the Capitol Theatre.
