Hi it’s Dominque owner and founder of Art Matters Productions in Rocky Ford, CO. So around the studio there are figurines, books, and photos of some of my all time favorite artists. One of them is Todrick Hall! I actually got a video message from him last year and I bought one of his outfits that is still in my closet lol.

The reason why I am so inspired by him to this day is because Todrick’s creativity honestly knows no limits, and although I continue to work on myself every day as an artist I still strive to be as free and crazy creative as he is! I decided that this year I am taking the limits off of myself and create what I want, how I want and release when I am ready.

This vinyl album is my favorite album of his entitled ALGORYTHM and it is on display in Art Matters Productions studio for those who come, so they can also feel inspired. This album was him playing with a new sound. It is 80’s inspired and I think he completely snapped and pushed himself vocally and artistically to make it what it is.

Happy Sunday! It’s Dom just wanted to come on and say this; stop waiting on people to have everything before you start supporting them.

For example, not all small businesses start out in a commercial building. Some start out in their homes, grandmas basement, or even from the trunk of their cars. No matter how you start it doesn’t mean your product or service isn’t good. You just have to show and prove that it is valuable.

Art Matters Productions, in all honesty, started in Colorado Springs in my studio apartment near Mitchell High School. All I had was what I moved from my childhood home with, a laptop, a microphone, headphones and an audio interface. Over the course of a year I turned my living room into a studio/entertainment space. Adding all of the elements that would typically be in a studio. That is where I recorded, mixed, mastered, and even performed especially when the pandemic hit. It wasn’t until the end of 2021 that I took over the other half of my spouses building in Rocky Ford that the first physical location of Art Matters was built.

I went from recording in my parents basement to owning my own studio. So I say all that to say YOU CAN DO IT TOO! Keep grinding, saving, sacrificing and it will pay off, but also to the community help them get there by buying their products, buying their services in full without expecting discounts or freebies, share reviews, and more. It costs nothing to share or tag a business on social media and give them a shout out. So please join in and help small businesses grow! Much love

So excited and almost ready to bring back our open mic night series that we started in 2023!!! This is really good especially for local artists in the area who needs help getting some performance chops in. This is also good for painters, sculptors, poets, spoken word artists and more to come. Each open mic will also spotlight a new artist every time.

No more giving away your product or services for free, no more accepting partial payment, we will have legally binding contracts, we will charge what our product and service is worth, if they don’t have the money they don’t get the service or product!

Hi it’s Dom again! Singers, songwriters, rappers, sculptors, painters, visual artists etc….. Let me encourage you to do something I like to call change your diet. When I say change your diet, I mean change your artistic diet for a while. Go check out other forms of art for a bit, go find new music artists to listen to, turn off the tv and read books, expand your artistic horizons and see how that changes YOUR art and how you approach YOUR art!

For example, I hear so many rappers that sound literally the exact same. Same sound, same cadence, same topics, It’s like the only people they listen to and draw inspiration from is each other.

This year take time to travel the world artistically and then come back and see what it does for you!
