Who is the Rockwall County Herald-Banner?

The Rockwall County Herald-Banner is a hyper-local newspaper publishing every Friday. It is published by Herald Banner Publications, based in neighboring Greenville, Texas, part of the CNHI family of U.S. news outlets.

We cover Rockwall Independent School District; the City Councils of Rockwall, Heath, McLendon-Chisholm and Fate; the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce; and local nonprofits, crime, and neighborhood news. We also cover news from the Rockwall County Commissioners Court.

In addition to the print edition that is distributed on Fridays, we also update our website – https://www.rockwallheraldbanner.com/ – and our page regularly with news, human interest stories and local sports updates. If breaking news is urgent or potentially affects public safety (ie weather updates, traffic alerts, closed roads etc.), it will be published immediately on our social media channels.

We welcome any and all feedback and story suggestions, regardless of the topic or nature of the feedback. Local non-profits are welcome to share information about their services and events on our page and in our print edition; please email non-profit calendar items, story submissions, and coverage requests to [email protected].

For-profit groups that wish to publicize free events that are open to the public should email their information to [email protected] to be considered for inclusion at no charge in our online and print pages. Any for-profit entity seeking guaranteed publication of their event, product or message in our various online and print platforms should email [email protected], or call the Retail Advertising department at 903-455-4220 during business hours.

Letters to the editor must include the writer’s name, address and phone number for verification purposes. (Only the name and hometown will be published.) Letters should be under 500 words and are published at the editor’s discretion. We publish 99.9% of the letters we receive, regardless of the topic or viewpoint.

Guest commentary (opinion column) submissions are also welcome, on any topic. Opinion columns should be between 500 and 800 words and will be published at the editor’s discretion. We publish 99.9% of the contributed opinion columns we receive, regardless of the topic or viewpoint.
