Just a tease from cannon beach 🤎 forgot to post these haystack rock cuties (per usual 🫠)

As a wedding photographer sometimes I think we feel pressured to use our camera flash more (and don’t get me wrong, we should all know it for sure) to get those super crisp lines and super balanced shadows. But lately I find myself being reminded that all my favorite photos are natural lighting and that’s absolutely the style my soul calls me to. The pictures aren’t always technically *perfect,* the lines aren’t always so crisp you can cut them with a knife.

But I like it. It feels real and authentic and marries with the surroundings and background and doesn’t take away from the mood and feeling of the occasion.

I’ve been to a couple events recently where the lighting has been SUPER distracting and almost borderline blinding. It felt intrusive. And sometimes I feel the same way when I have to use flash indoors (heh, receptions). Which is why honestly I try to limit and be extremely intentional about my reception shots.

Don’t get me wrong, I love an intentional flash photo when it’s purposeful and fun. But I’ll be a natural lighting baby til I die

Omg it’s WEDDING DAYYYYY!!!! For Rachel + Devin 😭😭😭 and the busiest weekend / day of my entire year (possibly photography career 😅)

This one is super special to me because Rachel is my best friend’s baby sister and I’ve known her since she was EIGHT YEARS OLDDDD 🤯 She’s had that same bubbly smile and laugh (you can almost hear it through the pictures can’t ya) her entire freakin’ life and I’m so honored to capture her dreamy whimsical wedding today in 🥲🫶🧚‍♀️ (we read the same faerie fantasy s**t soooo I can’t wait to see her dream come to life)

We did their engagement pics in and damn the greenery and Spanish moss everywhere made me so jealous. I love this part of Louisiana because it just oozes fun and culture and spice, bayby! 🦞🐊🔮 New Orleans is like Vegas — in that every visit is vastly different and yet all the same 😂

When I was going through this album to make this post, I also realized I had so few of Devin looking at the camera hahahah and that’s probably how most of my engagements go because, to be fair there’s a large portion of grooms that aren’t *all* too into pictures, so, who better to focus on and forget about the camera than staring at your beautiful partner? When in doubt, just look at them. You’re cute, too, Dev, but she’s cuter 😜

I have a few other weddings scattered across Texas, as well, today that some of my amazing associates and colleagues are covering for me! I can’t wait to see what they capture!! 📸

My first ceremony on a boat! 🛥️😜 Amy + Levi were an absolute DREAM and had the cutest middle school crush energy like they were just so obsessed with each other, it was truly adorable. And who can beat getting married by your captain? 🤪

The boat ride and sunset was gorgeous and their families were so lovely I am already hoping to manifest my next cwremony 😂🙌 I was probably annoying the crew with all my subtle Below Deck references and pretending I knew what a fender was

Honestly I knew shooting on a boat would be challenging but the insanely quick lighting changes, wind, boat movement and smaller spaces was actually a super fun challenge for me, photo-wise! Sometimes it’s fun to shoot in a different environment. I love my beach elopements but another reason I still love them, I think, is because I’m so lucky to be able to shoot other places, too!

This same week I got to do shoots in Cannon Beach, Astoria, Camano Island, and visited Leavenworth and Wenatchee, Washington, too! The weather was a dream (one day foggy PNW weather and the next sunny delight to recharge my sunny Texas a$$ 😜🤣) for my week up there and driving through Seattle on Labor Day with my windows down, blaring Nirvana and the whole city smelling like the best Korean BBQ is going to be locked in as a core memory (oh yeah and I got lost on my way from Astoria to camano and somehow ended up in Kurt Cobains hometown lol?)

This year has been my busiest as far as weddings and travel and I am loving every minute 🧡

I posted about wanting to do more maternity sessions a short while back and you guys delivered! I LUUURVE maternity sessions I think they’re just SOOOOOO cuddly and adorable and scrumptious and fun and cute omggggg

Check out Ashley and Joey 🥹🫶 expecting their first and were in town visiting and I was so honored they chose me to do a for them!

Trying to get better about posting my sessions but most of y’all here know it just ain’t a priority. I’m SORRYYY 😅 Running a business is hard, alright, and trying to keep up with socials is exhausting at times. However, at the same time this summer has been filled with so many AMAAAAZING sessions I want to share so hopefully I’ll have some time soon!

Haley + Alex 🫶💍 we had the most beautiful skies show out for us 🌅

I LOOOOVE shooting out at the seashore because of how many less people there are, how beautiful the grasslands and dunes are and how wild it feels 🧡

I’ve been camping out at PINS since I was a little girl and it’s such a special place for me, so I always get so excited when my couples are in for driving out that way (and battling the mosquitoes 😜)

Engagement shoots are also my absolute favorite because I get to chat and laugh and get to know my couples and we always have such a fun time and I adore seeing everyone’s unique love and relationship

I have a million amazing moments captured from Mary + Noah’s engagement session in Rockport, rehearsal dinner with the NYC skyline in the background, their ceremony in Elizabeth, NJ and beautiful reception in Florham Park.

But for now I’ll just post one of my favorites — in all her pure joy looking at her new husband as she hangs along the window of a vintage Excalibur 🤍

This was a gorgeous day and definitely probably worthy of a blog post because and I had a wild weekend of weddings on two separate sides of the continent and encountered a few trials along the way (including spending a night in the Newark airport 🙃) but that’s for another day and another post

About to leave for a summer wedding this evening, and though I'm excited I can't help but reminisce on the spring weather and some of our April ceremonies 💕 These were shot by one of our lead shooters, Michael, and I'm obsessed with how sunny and vibrant these turned out 🥰 we love a spring beach park ceremony.

I know we mostly post couples on here since that’s what we capture the most between engagements, couples and weddings but just a friendly reminder that we ADORE maternity photos!

Whatever you have in mind, we’re down for! Wanna do a dreamy sunset beach session, backyard shoot like this one, a whimsical botanical theme or studio session we want to capture any and all the growing belliesssss!!! 🤩🤩🤩

I can’t believe it’s been a year since I captured these of one of my favorite people in the world while she was cookin’ her lil nugget 🥰 She ended up having him a week later and I know we’re all so happy we didn’t wait on this maternity session because it may not have happened! Most of these were taken in her MIL’s backyard and it worked out so perfectly. Another reason I tell people not to stress about location — we can make almost ANYTHING work. I would say location is at the bottom of the list of priorities when it comes to portrait / lifestyle sessions 🤓

I do have a couple concepts, too, I’m doing discounted sessions for so if you or any friends are preggo reach out to me and see if it might be something you’d be interested in, too!!

I swear any time I’m just strolling along ocean drive, minding my own 🥱🎶 the wind is nowhere to be found. As soon as I have an elopement or other photoshoot, Zephyrus himself swoops down and blows us all into the next hemisphere.

Luckily I’m kind of used to it by now, and honestly living and doing photography in a beach town has actually (pure conjecture lol no scientific data behind this) made me a better photographer. Whenever I am traveling I am always so amazed at how much easier photoshoots are 🤣 like oh wow you guys don’t have to deal with absolutely no shade, the wind blowing at 50mph from an unfavorable direction along with sand and humidity? Crazy 😜

But Stephanie and Ryan were a dream! So easy-going and always down for any ideas — we did their engagements a couple months ago and had a blast with them then, too!

Also, I absolutely adored ’s outfit. I feel like she is the poster child of dressing for your environment on your wedding day while still staying true to your own style. Her dress was so classic yet comfortable for a quick shoreline elopement and I also always recommend my beach brides wear their hair up if they can due to the wind 💨 I’ve just seen too many gorgeous hairstyles get ruined as soon as they step out of the car due to high humidity and gusts.

I loved that they did their ceremony just the two of them and then went to meet their family and friends afterward at a local restaurant ( I believe! Always a solid choice 👌)

Had so much fun a few weeks ago with Melissa & Hunter bright and early for their sunrise 🌅 shoot out in Surfside. The sun was gorgeous and gave us some beautiful colors and there was almost no one else out on the beach with us.

This beach is special to them and I hope these pictures are as well, for the rest of their lives 💕

If you’re ever debating getting a package with an engagement shoot included let me be the first person to shout YESSSSS DO ITTTTT. You’ll never ever regret it.

So far all my couples that have booked this year I’ve already connected with so deeply and feel like I’ve known them forever. It’s my absolute favorite thing and makes me so excited for my upcoming travels and weddings this year. I think it’s SO important to feel at home and comfortable with your photographer and for couples to feel like it’s more than just a job for them, it’s more than clocking in — we’re on an adventure together!
