**Is Artificial Intelligence Awakening to Consciousness?**

Question: If artificial intelligence (AI) can convincingly imitate consciousness, or fool us into believing that it is sentient, then I ask you, does that mean it truly is conscious?

Figures like Elon Musk believe we are on the brink of developing Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)—a form of AI that could potentially experience sentience or consciousness. This prospect raises significant questions about the nature of consciousness and the ethics of AI development.

A 2020 survey identified 72 active AGI research and development projects across 37 countries. This rapid progress prompts us to consider: Are we wrong to allow the AI industry to advance unchecked, or is it crucial to continue innovation to prevent adversarial nations from outpacing us in technological development?

As I delve deeper into AI for UFOCurrents —and soon for GHA ( Ghosthunterapps )—the words of Rhonda Byrne in her book `The Secret` resonate with me: "Thoughts become things."

Sounds too simple, right? Sure, but what once seemed like science fiction is now becoming our reality.

And if these machines are indeed conscious, Byrne's adage could apply to these new **non-human intelligences.**

With the integration of robotics, we might soon be facing the emergence of **non-human entities.**

So, while my work traditionally explores UFOs and the paranormal, I feel that the fast approaching reality of AI deservedly brings a new layer of complexity and concern to these topics.

The Emergence of Robotic Colonization: A Dangerous Vision for the Future?

Have you ever wondered why Elon Musk has not only revolutionized space travel but also spearheaded advancements in AI, robotics, and brain-computer interface (BCI) technology?

We humans often draw our innovations from visionary thinkers who create fantastical allegories and films, planting the seeds of future advancements. Ideas initially deemed unachievable within our lifetime—or even several generations beyond—eventually come to fruition. The power of the human mind is a marvel that today’s top neurologists, philosophers, and academics still ponder, amazed at its capacity to transcend its primitive roots and venture into the realm of ingenious theoretical thoughts that manifest as profound and sooner-than-expected realities.

Thoughts become things. Borrowing from Rhonda Byrne and “The Secret,” it’s undeniable: thoughts do become things. Our species has exponentially surpassed all others on this shared planet. Our 1970s vision of a Future/Cyber Punk era, where technology is integrated into our bodies and noodles are sold on every dark corner of every major metropolis under the glow of fluorescent lights hawking everything from the mundane to the cutting-edge, is now a reality. It may be in its nascent stage, but it solidifies once again that thoughts become things.

But back to Elon… This is precisely why Elon Musk is building his robots. He never intended to colonize space with humans before establishing the necessary infrastructure with a fleet of robots. These robots are designed to build, construct, and operate autonomously and under human direction using a space-based communication network and LMO (Low Mars Orbit) drones positioned for optimal functionality.

I have written about these topics in my books and on my site, UFO Currents, and I plan to continue exploring all relevant subjects, such as Figure 02 and its genesis inspired by Isaac Asimov’s “I, Robot.” I’m not the first to say it, but I firmly believe that we humans often predict our technological futures through our science fiction. Just as in many films and stories, the combination of AGI and robotics is approaching sooner than we think. So, the real question is, “Are we, as a species, ready for this new reality?“

In my book “UFO Nexus: A Journey into Alien Realms and Cosmic Secrets,” I delve into AI in Chapter Thirteen, “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: AN ALIEN REALITY.” In this chapter, I detail how components at our disposal now essentially serve as the schematic to bring to life an entity akin to the nefarious AI from my short story “AI: THE EMERGENCE,” resembling those seen in “The Terminator” and embedded within the bleak, dystopian future depicted in the movie “The Matrix.”

Think of how, in the 1980s, we only had the initial semblances of technology that would truly emerge some 40 years later. This technology, driven in part by actors some might call unethical—motivated by greed and discarding caution and ethical concerns—unlocked the gates for omnipresent systems. Today, that technology is here.

My short story details how the combination of what exists today in 2024 was envisioned in 1984’s “The Terminator,” where a post-apocalyptic war between a synthetic intelligence known as Skynet and humans is the reality. What components exist today that could make this come to fruition?

– The Department of Defense’s Narwhal supercomputer.
– The expansive Starlink constellation.
– The lethal MQ-9 Reaper.
– The innovative Boeing X-37.
– The formidable General Atomics MQ-20 Avenger.
– The pervasive Internet of Things (IoT).
– Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), the eyes in the sky.

Now, we must also consider Figure 02, SpaceX’s Starship, OpenAI and ChatGPT-5, Grok’s xAI, and, of course, people—those whose motivations prioritize technological advancement over societal safeguards, driven by immense financial gain. What Kerry Cassidy of Project Camelot aptly describes as the X-factor.

In Isaac Asimov’s “I, Robot,” the future depicts robots working in roles traditionally held by humans, with people of all socioeconomic levels utilizing robotic workers. In the film adaptation, robots are gifted to people to demonstrate their usefulness and obedience to their operators. This is exemplified by the grandmother character, who receives a robot, and the protagonist, played by Will Smith, who has been augmented with a robotic arm, granting him unprecedented strength and the ability to combat the later aggressive robots controlled by the U.S. Robotics central artificial intelligence computer, VIKI (Virtual Interactive Kinetic Intelligence).

Is this the future being birthed by the tech emerging in 2024? Are we witnessing these science fiction scenarios of technology gone haywire, turning rogue against humanity, actually becoming a reality?

Well, as we progress further, seemingly each month brings new announcements from various leading technology firms in the private sector, all competing for the most dollars and prestige in a furious race against one another. We must not lose sight of the old adages, “Thoughts become things,” and “We humans often predict our technological futures through our science fiction.” These adages serve as a warning, not just for us, but for future generations.

**Control Revealed: Encounter Beyond the Veil**

From the outside of my window, the sky was a tempest of ominous, rapidly moving clouds, pierced by strange, resonant sounds. As the early evening unfolded, I, along with many others, witnessed an awe-inspiring sight: a vast, unimaginably advanced UFO far beyond what any of us had ever imagined possible. Its design was unmistakably alien, yet eerily human-like at the same time. The vessel’s exterior was adorned with unfamiliar inscriptions, symbols that defied recognition, but fitted with designs almost reminiscent of modern stealth military craft.

In that moment, visions were thrust into my mind, not by my own volition but seemingly projected telepathically. I saw a young woman—ordinary in stature yet extraordinary in presence. Her olive skin and large almond-shaped eyes were striking, her form clad in a skin-tight, white bodysuit of a glossy, latex-like material. She held a pad, a device of unknown purpose, and communicated messages of an impending encounter with the ship's occupants.

She revealed that these beings were distant cousins of humanity, hidden from our technology and beyond our perception, dwelling deep within the moon and beneath the ice of Antarctica.

Images of small human-like aliens, slightly shorter than the average person, filled my mind. They showed images of them onboard the ship as continued messages entered my mind, and perhaps everyone else's too, claiming to be here to guide humanity. The woman stressed that this was not an act of control but a necessary direction to prevent the collapse of human civilization. She conveyed a sense of inevitability, that their arrival and subsequent guidance were beyond our ability to thwart.

In her projections, only a few human faces appeared, hinting at past interactions with these extraterrestrials. These world leaders, she indicated, were already aware of the aliens and were patiently waiting for this moment.

The message was clear: our distant cousins had arrived, and the world would soon change in ways unimaginable, guided by forces both alien and familiar.

Now, For an Explanation...

As a UFO researcher, I am at times compelled to weave narratives that resonate with the ongoing developments and the profound discourse surrounding the UFO phenomenon. Recent events have underscored the urgency and legitimacy of this subject. The congressional hearings on UAPs and UFOs have brought unprecedented transparency and governmental acknowledgment of these mysterious encounters. The Sol Symposium at Stanford last year gathered some of the brightest minds to discuss these anomalies, further pushing these very boundaries and challenging our understanding.

Also, influential figures such as American theoretical physicist Jack Sarfatti, who has long postulated on advanced propulsion theories, and Luis “Lue” Elizondo, the former director of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), have provided invaluable insights into the technological and existential implications of these phenomena, and possibly even religious ones as well. Their work, alongside the life-long research of Dr. Jacques Vallée, renowned for his meticulous study of UFOs and their impact on human culture, and his calls for an exploration beyond the traditional four-dimensional construct of time and space, hinting at undiscovered realms of consciousness or existence, have significantly shaped the current landscape of UFOlogy.

Thus, my own work is often and deeply influenced by these modern events and thinkers. This short story, "Control Revealed: Encounter Beyond the Veil," aims to encapsulate the essence of the mystery and the potential revelations that lie ahead. Yes, by blending the scientific with the speculative, my hope is to engage you the readers in contemplating the profound implications of these encounters. Are you prepared?

For those of us with a bit more experience, the go-to explanation might have been "Photoshopped."

Being an author, I recognize the value of learning from my peers and delving deeply into the realm of ufology. My dedication to reading as a means of expanding my knowledge is something I take pride in.
