Trial #8 begins today.

Leslie is charged with five counts of disorderly conduct.

The allegations stem from June 4th 2021, a Friday during City Market season, when City of Rockford employees and Public Works director Kyle Saunders,
Melissa Masson,
Amy Sommerfield,
Stephanie Peavy,
Jessica Schaefer,
And Brandon Kruse
tore, ripped and threw into garbage bags the memorials of victims of police terrorism in Say Their Name Square.

The workers are all white.

The allegations are that the City workers were “alarmed and disturbed” during the desecration of the memorials by the filming and Leslie’s alleged temporary use of a megaphone throughout filming.

As of today, not including this trial, Kyle Saunders has testified against protestors in 3/7 trials that have gone. In those three trials, the protestor has been found not guilty on all charges.

There are no black or Hispanic members of the jury.

This is the 30th case this task force has been put in charge of investigating. They have previously justified 29 cases in a row.

This same task force justified two deaths inside the jail last year.

There is institutional abuse and negligence going on inside the Winnebago County Jail. Individuals are dying inside. Most of the recent deaths have been from people awaiting trial held on a monetary bond.

People are being put in a hellhole. Members of our community are consistently dying inside the Winnebago County Jail and this task force is consistently justifying it.

I was assaulted after tonight’s RPS 205 board meeting by school board member Michael Connor. I was there filming the May 30th Alliance asking for answers in response to the assult that took place at the hands of a school resource officer at Auburn High School last school year.

Funds in this account are to be used to pay bail bonds, pay relevant legal fees, create and distribute educational materials, and otherwise support the mission, goals and resources of the May 30th Alliance.
