Join me for a day trip to Columbia, SC to visit the SC State Museum for the Heroes and Villains exhibit. While there, I visited two spots on my Cola bucket list, Railroad BBQ and Lita’s Treats.

🪄HEROES AND VILLAINS: THE ART OF THE DISNEY COSTUME- Created by the Walt Disney Archives, the exhibit showcases features 70 costumes worn by Brandy, H.E.R., Glenn Close, Angelina Jolie, and featured in movies and TV Shows such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Enchanted, Once Upon a Time, and more. The exhibit also provides insight from the designers on how the costumes were created and designed.

🪄RAILROAD BBQ – a local neighborhood restaurant that specializes in smoked meats and Southern cuisine.

✨The John Henry ($17.99) – smoked pork served with your choice of two basic sides and your choice of bread (sweet cornbread or Texas Toast) – I chose Mac + Cheese, Collards + Kale (Mild), and Sweet Cornbread. – I loved everything about the pork, the texture, the tenderness, as well as the smokey flavor. The mac and cheese was worth checking out as it had a decent taste, which are words I would also use to describe the sweet cornbread. The collards and kale mix was absolutely wonderful. The greens were fresh, had a great seasoning blend and texture.

✨Strawberry Champagne ($4.50)– ever had a cupcake where you can taste the champagne? It’s not overpowering or subtle – just the right amount – there was a perfect balance between the strawberry and champagne flavors.

MAVERICK BISCUIT – Add this Southern-style breakfast restaurant to your list of, “Places to Eat,” in the Upstate. Located ten minutes or so from Greenville, expect to find a menu filled with scratch-made Southern fare as well as cocktails, craft beer, coffee, and specialty lattes courtesy of Mel’s Morning Surge.

The restaurant also has a jam bar which features 4 different scratch-made jams: blueberry lavender, strawberry basil, red pepper, ginger peach and butters: maple, regular, sweet potato, and pecan.
