GOD WORKS THROUGH ACTION ✍🏽
It’s funny to me how people say things like, “You don’t need DEI. Just work hard, and you’ll be fine,” or “God can bless anybody, you just need to pray harder.” We say these things and forget that God doesn’t just operate in isolation—He uses people, systems, and structures to bless others. When we think about Joseph’s family during the famine, their survival wasn’t just the result of their prayers. It was because Joseph had been put in a position of influence where he could advocate for them and provide what they needed (Genesis 41:54-57). Their prayers were powerful, but their breakthrough came because God placed someone in the right system to help them.
It’s the same thing when we talk about God blessing us with financial provision. It doesn’t usually fall from the sky. More often, it comes through a job, a new opportunity, or God touching someone’s heart to be generous. Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.” God will cause people to be a blessing, but we have to recognize the value of these connections, systems, and opportunities He orchestrates.
We can’t just sit back and say, “Pray more,” and ignore the fact that God often works through action, people, and strategy. Faith isn’t passive—James 2:26 says, “Faith without works is dead.” So yes, pray hard, but also know that God uses people and systems to open doors and pour out blessings. We need to stop acting like effort and structure don’t matter when they are often part of God’s plan to advance His people.
