We took a chance at a stream a day after opener and to our surprise there was an empty stretch. Some great hungry trout came on leech patterns and a few in the later day hit dry Flys. All were healthy and hard fighters. All were released

Found a few rainbows eager for the nymphs that drifted by. This driftless stream has been on my mind for sometime, but always got put on hold. As I guided a friend to new waters this year we were blessed with a beautiful day.

Last two Saturdays in March fishing the driftless was slow but we managed a few brown's. Though the waters are low from a dry Minnesotas winter we put our efforts in for the tug and the feel of tight lines. Always a pleasure to take out friends and fairly newbies to fly fishing it's enjoyable to watch them grow and learn what you teach. One day I'll sit back and embrace the feelings of knowing that they will teach the next generation of what seems to be a love for fly fishing the driftless!

Started out chilly this morning, then warmed up. Trout were a little lethargic, then picked up with the temps rising. We definitely need rain to bring up the water levels as they are so low. The trout are there just have to work for them.

Trout fishing was tough yesterday. Water is low, low, low! Did manage 4 rainbows and 2 lost brown's. Had to take Andrew to my one spot to at least he wouldn't get skunked. We definitely need lots of rain.

We hit pool 4, and the waters are still raging couldn't find a lot of Bass, but the northern were everywhere. We did catch 2 walleyes under 3 ft of water. It's going to be a bit for the waters to be good.

Took Vinh out for his first time trout fishing. Very successful day lost count on the fish caught. Some beautiful Brown's landed, photo, and released back for someone else to enjoy. Spinners, dry flies, and nymphs didn't matter. All were producing fish.
