Did you know that when you book a cruise vacation, the final bill is (usually) not due when you book? Meaning, you can book your cruise at a fraction of the full cost AND have time to budget!

Cruising is one of my favorites ways to get away because of the flexibility of payments. Typically, you pay your deposit for the trips first. The deposit amount varies and can be from $50-200pp, a flat rate per cabin, or even a percentage of the balance due. Full payment will be due 90-120 days before you set sail. You receive notifications from me leading up to your cruise for reminder of payment. I will process payment when you are ready, super easy!

Don’t want to wait to pay? Heck that’s ok! Some cruise lines even give you an extra discount for paying in full right away. But make sure you’re letting your travel agent (me 😉) book your reservation. You do not want to loose out on extra perks, such as on board spending $$, casino cash, stateroom upgrades, and multiplier discounts!

Each cruise is different and there are refundable and non-refundable rates. Deposits sometimes can be transferred but most changes cannot be made once full payment has been placed on the reservation. Taxes and port fees are always due at final payment, but crew gratuities can be prepaid or paid for on the ship at the end of travel!

Side note: If you find a deal you can’t resist, let me check it out first. I can price match or go above what you may find! Plus you keep your loyalty because I work directly all cruise lines!

I loved my 1st Carnival cruise so much! Here are a few tips to guide you if you’ve never cruised before with Carnival (this applies to other cruise lines as well!):

• I overpacked big time. Less really is more! I could have packed 1/4 less and reused clothes.

• I’m not a heavy drinker and but I opted to get the drink package. Honestly I could have gone without it but the peace of mind really helped and I enjoyed having access to the full beverage offerings! I think for anyone on the fence, just get the drink package 👍🏻 it’s less of a hassle to get drinks and basic gratuities are already included.

• the balcony was worth the cost. I can’t ever see cruising without a balcony!! Even though we splurged & got aft view, the price of fresh air every morning is worth it and the views are amazing!

• I purchased the private access to the Terrazza lounge and I will always opt for this (or similar) because I used the private dining and relaxing area every day! I loved it ❤️

• the food was good and plentiful! There’s something for everyone and I wasn’t hungry one minute on the cruise. Will be dieting this week lol!

• let the photographers take pictures of you. You’ll be able to decide if you want to buy them later when you view your photos. I didn’t allow many of the photographers to take pics of me because I thought I’d have to buy them immediately. Allowing them to take pics gives you more options to choose from.

• I forgot to bring reusable straws. The candy straws were fine but I was a little sad not having one with!

• I like social media and being able to keep in touch with my loved ones through iMessage and FB messenger, so the premium WiFi package was worth it to me. They had 4pack deals for families too!

• Did I mention don’t overpack.. lol but bring an extra bag to bring back souvenirs. A reusable grocery bag, small backpack, or small travel sack for getting off the ship at ports!

Last but not least, enjoy every minute! Do what you like because all cruises come to an end and when it does, you’ll be looking to book another one asap.
