It’s been a minute since I’ve posted this one & I like keeping it pretty *findable* towards the top of my feed because, well… you never know who needs it ❤️ Also, I’ve had people ask for a version that’s easy to imbed on their websites, etc, so this is also posted to my YT channel - same handle
Managing your blow dryer during an airtouch service can be challenging 😔 but NOT with the @babylissprousa Nano Titanium Matte Black Light Ionic High Speed Dryer! It’s petite enough to fit on a crowded color cart, it’s super lightweight for easy repetitive airtouch movements, it’s powerful and also very cute 🖤 #babylisspropartner #babylisspro #babylissproed #babylisspartner
Rhombus sectioning - its versatile, reliable, precise, but doesn’t take itself too seriously. The all-diagonal placement makes everything extra blendy whether you’re weaving, slicing, airtouching, doing teasylights, whatever. We love a rhombus ❤️
The FULL breakdown 🤍 Lightener: Goldwell Silk Lift Strong + 10-20vol Lowlight in zone 1: topchic 6A w/7vol & blue pure pigs Lowlight in zone 2: SEQ 7T Toner: SEQ 58 grams 10T, 2 grams 10VV, 8 grams clear Treatments: @k18hair mist & mask throughout the entire service The cutest foils for color coding: @framar #greytransition #silversisters
Still working on a video of this entire project from start to finish, but in the meantime - here’s a wee little clip of how I drop foils. Since grey transitions take several hours, I have to drop foils several times throughout the process to avoid unnecessary aggression on the hair. I use cotton strips to ensure that whatever residual moisture I couldn’t remove with my fuzzy gloves is able to quickly air dry completely. It also prevents perspiration from reactivating the dried lightener. The clips as tweezers thing - it just makes my life easier. It also helps me avoid any unintentional lightener transfer from the gloves. Anyway, keep a lookout for the full-process post dropping soon 👀 The muppet gloves: @framar bleach blenders The lightener: @goldwellus silk lift & 10vol Hair prepped with @k18hair mist #greytransition #silversisters
I recently posted the 10-month grow out of this grey transition (it’s like 5 reels back from this one), but here’s a reminder of how we got her there in the first place.
This initial process took:
👉 13 hours
👉 11 bowls of lightener
👉 3 bowls of color
👉 2 toners
👉 4 k18hair treatments
And this is what maintenance looks like:
👉 shampoo 1x week w/ cool water, K18 mask each time
👉 heat protectants when blow drying, no hot irons
👉 silk pillowcase for extra protection
👉 no chlorine/saltwater/excessive sun
👉 tone, treat & trim every 4-8 weeks until the processed hair grows out

Here’s a little hack for really customizing your airtouch to your client’s needs. I partnered with babylissprousa & used their Nano Titanium Matte Black Light Ionic High Speed Dryer to do this entire service. It’s petite enough to fit on my color cart, it’s super light for easy repetitive airtouch movements, and most importantly, it’s very cute.

Can’t think of caption. Brain is melted. But here. Look at this. K bye 🩶 #greytransition #greyhair #silversisters
Here’s an example of a 10-month fade out from one of my grey transitions. She lives out of state, so her stylist at home had been maintaining it with regular toners/trims & doing an amazing job 🤍 First, YES - it will ALWAYS fade warm, and proper maintenance is something that is thoroughly discussed PRIOR to booking - Regular toner visits are required to keep unwanted warmth at bay until the processed hair is eventually cut off. Second, sometimes people will grow out their grey only to realize that maybe they DON’T want to have 100% virgin hair & that’s okay! In this instance, my client mentioned how much she loved the pops of “pepper” in her hair and she wanted to see more of it. She didn’t care if that meant she’d have to maintain them like 2x a year. I strategically placed them to somewhat match her natural “pepper” so she wouldn’t have any sort of obvious regrowth line from the lowlights. We both LOVED the end result 😍 Formula stuff below 👇 Lowlight formula: 6A topchic w/10vol + pure blue pure pigments Toner: SEQ 10T + the tiniest splash of 10VV & 10P @k18hair sandwich style #greytransition #silversisters
We had to manage expectations from the get go here:
1️⃣ I knew all 3 areas would lift differently & require different treatment.
2️⃣that demarcation between the bleached hair & tinted hair was a danger zone.
When it comes to color corrections, communication is EVERYTHING.
So I wanted to share with you my verbiage during our consult:
“Hey so I want to talk about this demarcation line right here [shows her close up]. I can do my best to take lightener RIGHT UP to that line, but the reality is, if I overlap any hairs even by a millimeter, it’s going to break. And if I don’t get close enough, you’ll get a subtle demarcation. With that being said, I’d rather err on the side of “subtle demarcation” than major breakage. Also understand that avoiding breakage completely is not possible. No matter how careful I am, SOME strands will get caught in lightener and break. Second, I want to talk about this band of old red-violet color. I don’t expect it to lift away completely. Like listen, there’s a chance it might, and that would be great, but I’m not counting on it. But I DO have a plan for if it doesn’t lift as much as we want it to (we talked about other darker pink options). Third, your virgin hair up here - That’s going to lift perfectly lol. But it’s the rest that’s going to take all day to get to a *mostly* even canvas”
If my client was NOT OKAY with any of the above terms, then I would have helped her pivot and find a DIFFERENT END RESULT. I don’t promise ANYTHING that I can’t 100% GUARANTEE. Also, through any corrective service like this, I find it super helpful to keep my client posted the entire way. Band not lifting? I show my client & tell her what I’m going to do about it. Extra porous hair grabbed toner weird in the sink? I tell my client that. You’d think that would freak a client out, but what’s worse is that awkward silence when weird things happen during a correction - which often ends up in both parties sp
