It’s been a minute since I’ve posted this one & I like keeping it pretty *findable* towards the top of my feed because, well… you never know who needs it ❤️ Also, I’ve had people ask for a version that’s easy to imbed on their websites, etc, so this is also posted to my YT channel - same handle

Here you go ❤️ My client here wanted to transition from having a harsh permanent

I LIVE for a good demi grey blend. In order to transition this beauty from opaque permanent color to

This beauty came in for a grey transition consultation to help her fully embrace her salt & pepper hair after many years of coloring. Upon closer inspection, I could see that there was far more pepper than salt on the majority of her head. The “salt” was predominantly in the top-front part of her head. She had a quarter-sized patch of about 85-90% white, and about 60% in the few inches surrounding the white patch, down to about her temples. Everything else was mostly pepper, with just a sprinkle of salt. I was mindful of this & followed her natural grey pattern as closely as I could. The entire process took 8 hours from start to finish including her haircut.FormulaLowlights (nape area where it was darker & where the old color was extra copper): SEQ 3/4 6T, 1/4 5NA Lowlights (from occipital up): SEQ 6THighlights: Oxycur & 10-25vol Toner: SEQ 60 grams 10T, 5 grams 10VV

I love this little hack for blending hairline greys. It’s super easy & allows for subtle coverage WITHOUT creating any regrowth/demarcation lines. Also, sn**ch up those select discounted liters at saloncentric during the month of July.

During our consult, my client expressed that she wanted to go grey BUT she still wanted “a little something” for *pizazz* and didn’t mind a 1-2x year blonding maintenance in order to maintain something kind of fun.⁣ I used her natural grey pattern as a guide, and then also added a money piece for the *pizazz*. We used 10 bowls of lightener, 4 bowls of color, 1 toner (that’s almost 4lb of mixed color!) and around FOUR HUNDRED foils. A huge thank you to my amazing client here for flying in all the way from DC to see me, for the most amazing convos, the best life advice, & for rallying ALL DAY & NIGHT with me! 🩶⁣ ⁣ Formula: ⁣ Color remover: Goldwell remover + 10vol ⁣ Highlight: Oxycur & 10-20vol ⁣ Lowlight: 6A Topchic w/ Pearl Blue pure pigment ⁣ Toner: SEQ 70grams 10T, 5grams 10P⁣ Treatments: K18 in EVERY. My sister said she wanted her FIRST EVER vivid look & I couldn’t say no 🥹 For her dry-haircut, we took off about 3” of length, added cheekbone length long curtain bangs & some piecy layers. Next we sectioned off 2 triangular sections for her vivid peekaboos. We lightened with 20vol, rootsmudged and toned, then applied the rainbow peekaboos first, followed by melty vivids for the remainder. We went live for the both the haircut & for the rainbow portion of the peekaboos. One of my go-to placements for when I want PACKED in highlights. I choose SLICES to maximize the blonde, and DIAGONAL placement to maximize the blend. The 4 QUADRANTS + RHOMBUS sectioning allows me to easily maximize area coverage on the full head, leaving no pockets of darkness. Just all blonde, all day.Lift: Oxycur & 10 to 25 vol Toner: 10VG, 10GI, splash of clearAsk me anything below_________________________________ Like how I teach? shann.hair & I will be teaching in Georgia this Fall!️ 2 October - 𝗥𝗢𝗦𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗟, 𝗚𝗔⁣ fancy.hairdressersLink in bio for tickets ️

Most grey transitions take me about 8-10 hours, but this project took over 12 hours - this was due to the intricacies of trying to match her natural “salt & pepper” grey pattern as closely as we could which required me to separate the “salt” from “pepper” strand by strand. Also, there were a few extra obstacles in her hair that I had to carefully work around due to a previous grey transition attempt & previous highlights. It was 12+ hours of non-stop work. Like actual non-stop. As soon as I finished foiling one section, I had to start dropping the previous section, so there was never a full processing time I could sit or take a break. This is why grey-transitions are one of the most labor intensive, thus most expensive services in the salon. Not to mention the 10 bowls of lightener (20 scoops), 7 bowls of color of used (That’s literally 4.5 pounds of product for one head!), an insane amount of foils, backbar treatments, K18, etc. But it’s all worth it in the end to see this smile & this SMOKESHOW of an end result! 🔥 My client here was an absolute trooper throughout the whole process. Thank you to this beauty for rallying ALL DAY with me & for your trust in me, and thank you to sadie.strands for helping me keep my work space & life in order all day 🙌💪🥰 Formula: 🤍 Lightener (the “salt”) - Oxycur & 7vol to 25vol at the very end 🖤 The “pepper” - Goldwell TC Equal parts 5A & 6A + 1 gram of pearl blue pure pigment, 10vol ✨ Toner: SEQ 10T, a capful each of 10VV & 10AG done in a “k18hair sandwich”

No ceiling fans were harmed. But grateful for my beautiful client here who trusted the process despite all of the wild in-between stages! ❤️❤️ This demi transition took about 10 hours, including her haircut & finish. We took our time lifting low & slow to protect the integrity of her hair as much as possible.
