This morning on Classic Country Weekend we'll kick off the show with Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys and a song that topped the country charts for them on this very date in 1946.

In 2013, Florida Georgia Line broke the record for most consecutive weeks at #1 when "Cruise" marked its 20th week at the top, beating the previous record of 19 weeks which had stood for over half a century. Find out which song previously held that record.

In 1975 a pop song was already number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts when it also peaked at number one on the country charts, earning it the distinction of having the longest song title of any number one song in country music history. We'll have that with you in the 8 o'clock hour along with this week CCW Four-Play segment.

Amazing how technology has changed since I started in radio in the early 80's. From my small home studio I can produce a 3 hour weekly radio show, upload it to the radio station who then airs it locally and streams it from their website allowing the show to be heard virtually anywhere in the world.
Being a non profit station, we do not participate in the Nielsen ratings so I really don't know if I have 10 listeners or 10,000 LOL, but they've kept me so far. Quickly approaching the 1 year anniversary of taking over Classic Country Weekend.
