In the spring of 2023, I ripped a tendon while playing tennis. I spent a few months laying in bed. During that time, I read a bunch of old stories and fairy tales that are part of the public domain and thought about how fun it would be to create an album based off of these stories.

Thus, Folk Songs for Fairy Tales was born.

All the members of The Irish Lassies are posting about how they have shows and music releases upcoming this year, so I thought I would jump on the bandwagon.

The Irish Lassies are recording a couple albums worth of songs at Barn Burner Studio, which are a mix of covers and originals. The original songs are amazing, thoughtful and steeped in Irish history, having to do with the things that Irish immigrants in the United States experienced during the revolutionary war, famine in Ireland, the gold rush and moving west period, the building of the railroads and the world wars.
