EHSR April Meeting

The topic for this month's meeting was inspired by an article in the New York Times, "Should Patients Be Allowed to Die from Anorexia?" (https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/03/magazine/palliative-psychiatry.html) Our discussion leaders Dr. Richard Kreipe and Dean Amy Campbell. Dr. Kreipe is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester. Dean Campbell is the inaugural Associate Dean for Law & Health Sciences, and Professor of Law at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law (www.law.uic.edu/profiles/campbell-amy/). They will discuss an interdisciplinary, life-affirming approach to the treatment of eating disorders.

We are thrilled to announce that Victor Poleshuck will be joining us as the guest speaker for our upcoming meeting (January 4th at 7:00pm ET)! Victor is a Clinical Professor Emeritus at UR Medicine. Speaking on the topic of medical ethics, Victor will start his presentation by defining and explaining some of the generally accepted principles of medical ethics and finish with a Q&A where we will discuss real life examples of the ethical dilemmas that occur in the medical field.
