Wrestling tournaments are the Wild West 🌵🤠Imagine this, you’re at a tournament, it’s hot and there is terrible phone service, so of course trackwrestling isn’t loading. You refresh anyway, it loads (hallelujah) and a wrestler from your club is up… no one knows where he/she is. Everyone scrambles, and runs in different directions to search for the kid.Have you ever tried finding a child in a gym that’s definitely over capacity and audibly filled with people’s talking, whistles screeching, coaches yelling and parents screaming? No, not us either, but that sounds almost impossible. Add in the pressure of the tournament director calling the name over there speakers, and heat rises to your face. Just to clarify we have a comment from the one and only Sherri Baker, “I dug up some photos. Nolan was the one who wrestled when he was still wearing a diaper. We took Nelson to spring tournaments (before we ever got involved with club wrestling), and Nolan wore a singlet to be like his big brother. At the Dakota tourney, they put him in a bracket just for fun. His first opponent was Josh Alber.”Both Nolan and Josh went on to have successful wrestling careers and are now great coaches in the area.
