It was announced on Friday that the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia is now OPEN after closing to assess damage from Hurricane Helene. Take advantage of a gorgeous weekend to support some of the businesses along the parkway that have been impacted by the closure during what is normally PEAK season, including the Peaks of Otter at mile post 85 in Bedford County. We recently did the Sharp Top hike there on a spectacularly clear day for our occasional series, Out and About.
Here's a reminder that we have posted a link to organizations accepting help with disaster relief in our region at www.BlueRidgePBS.org
