Over 25 years ago, I created the persona of PaisleyRose, the wild Scottish widow from Paisley Scotland. I named my costuming and jewelry business after her, and later my publishing of novels. Little did I know that she and I would become one and the same.
This past Friday, November the 29th, I lost my husband after a sudden decline in his health. He had been ill for a long time, but we thought stable. His passing hit us all like a brick wall.
He was more than a husband, he was my friend, and confidant, and cheering squad. When I created a costume he cheered me on. When I won awards, he cheered me on, when I sold a novel, he cheered me on. I'm gonna miss that man.

Learning to be creative, despite my disabilities has been a challenge. I still want to create jewelry for gifts... so I need to learn new techniques. And I need to relearn how to hold some of my tools and work with compression gloves. It's all part of life.

Working on ideas for mobility up at Faire. I've a lovely wheel chair, and to keep with the fun, I'm thinking of adding Iron blades... my own wheeled Iron throne, but I'll wear a red priestess dress.... I mean why would the high houses have all the fun?
