Our amazing Title I teacher, Angel Reed, was honored today with a check from Horace Mann, for being our county’s teacher of the year. She is using the money to purchase books written by WV authors, or about our great state. This will help make our year especially “Wild and Wonderful “.

We are very excited to announce our first ever Harvest Festival! Saturday October 1st 10AM to 2PM. There will be activities for kids and adults alike. Cake walk, pony rides, apple butter and more! The kitchen will also be open selling hotdogs. It is going to be a great event.

Join Mill Creek Water Trail and Project WET for a Water Educator Workshop on Saturday, September 10th from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Ripley High School. All that attend the free workshop will receive the Project WET 2.0 Curriculum and Activity Guide 2.0, access to an online portal, lunch and select kits to conduct water education activities! A 50 percent scaled replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is on display at Dutch Miller of Ripley (former I-77 Chevrolet dealership showroom). Today is the last day for the display, hours are 4 - 8 PM, Admission is free, although donations are accepted. It is West Virginia's first time hosting the tribute.

Virginia woodworker Stanley Scruggs is coming back to the 60th Mountain State Art & Craft Fair.
Check out his cutting boards, cheese cutters, pepper mills, bowls and wine stoppers on July 1-3 at Cedar Lakes Conference Center, near Ripley. He'll be demonstrating his skills from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
